This hand was played in the $300 freeroll on pokerstars, I think I made the right play, but I think villain didn't like it very much.🤔🤭

Despite winning a few chips, I couldn't make it to the money, who knows next time.😁

Looks like you played a pretty good hand to me. Nice win. Did the three queens trash talk you because they lost?

In the first hand, you played perfectly. It's your opponent who seemingly wanted to trap you with a small bet on flop, but instead trapped himself with you making a straight on the turn. If anything he should be mad at himself for not betting way more on the turn, but it goes like that sometimes, you just need to suck it up.
The second hand is actually similar situation to the first one, only here it's a reverse position for you. The only thing is that you didn't wait and bet the right amount on flop, since you were presented with a nasty double draw board. Straight and flush potential.
I'm actually surprised your opponent didn't just go all-in on flop as people with double straight draw usually go. Once turn came he was pretty much committed to this pot anyways and your all in was expected at this point. Lucky for him, making straight at turn already, it was an easy call.
So as for your play. Did you overplay your over pair? Maybe a bit, but then again most of us do with hand like AA. And as you said, sometime the game gives and sometimes it takes away.

Hand 1 AJo

Flop
There are actually situations, where I will just fold AJo against an UTG open, but playing in a freeroll is not one of them. So depending on your reads you can either call or 3-bet and then mostly look to fold to a 4-bet, which will usually be a jam.

Turn
With a gutshot and an over we can once again either call or raise. An UTG range should be pretty strong, and we also have SB left to act behind us. For those reasons I dont think, there is a lot of fold equity here, and there are better draws to raise like KJs or J9s. So I am ok making the call.

Turn
Bingo. Clearly you want to bet for value. But its important to think about pot geometry, and when you bet this small and get a single caller, pot will be around 2.300 on the river, and you will still have around 2.900 left. Which mean that to get all the chips in, you will need to overbet the river. Its usually better to distribute the bets more evenly between turn and river. So I would bet something like 900 here. Which with a single caller would create a pot of 3.250 and leave you with 2.450 behind. Which mean you can jam the river without it being an overbet. And yeah. When he check-raise and commit himself to the pot, we are obviously getting it in with the nuts.

Results
Next time if someone complain about a bad beat in the chat on PokerStars, then send them a pack of tissues to dry their eyes. Its one of the default available throwables :)

Hand 2 AA

Like your line and sizing on every street here. Only the result could have been better, but fortunately it was not for all your chips :)

I made a low bet on the tuner, as I had observed other hands of villain and I deduced that if I bet low he would think that I was trying to buy the pot with some low pair.
