Villian was consistantly stealing pots, being short stacked my draw turned check raise bluff worked out, but what do you think about the play?

At first, I thought you were really lucky he didn't have a 9. Then I read the bottom about your read on him. That's what it's all about, baby! Play the player, not the cards. Good job! That's how you deal with a bully. Just be careful. Sometimes they do have it.

I would play those cards in a similar way. However:

* On the flop make a pot-sized bet. That gives the other players the impression you have hit top pair or hav an overpair. Mayb the other players wld hav folded right there if u had hav bet bigger at that stage. However, if you still got called then the other player is telling you they hav a good hand or could be drawing just like you (unlikely).

* ON the turn if you dont hit the flush I wld check. This is the cheapest option. If you bet then you could get raised and wld then hav to contribute more. If you check and the other player bets then calculate the pot odds to see if it is worth calling.

* If after the river you still hav high card Ace then i would check-fold. If your opponent is still in the pot they most likely hav u beat. I used to bluff at the end, but almost always got called or raised such that it was a bad play.

You went all in at the end but it wasn't a very big bet respective to the pot size so your opponent wld most likely call with any piece of shit just out of curiosity. The fact that your opponent folded meant you probably had him beat anyway.

Lemme kno wat u think. :turtle:

It was a risky but successful bluff. The check raise on the river scared him. Outplayed has my vote.
