raise preflop

flat call the river raise since villain raised then flat called the turn, so he either has some type of 2 pair/pock 9's at a stretch or a jack. If he had a jack, he wouldnt call the third raise on the turn then raise river, if he had a jack he would cap the turn. So it is very likely he has a full house or a,j aswell.

There is actually a pretty decent arguement for bet/folding the river, but just callnig the river raise is fine

you should ve raised preflop, but he probably would ve called anyways, apart from that you re doin everything correct, but you might just have check-called the river simply because all his raising on the previous streets at least represent a K of some kind possibly two pair...

but to ur question, its just a bad beat

Looks okay to me. Not sure I would go for the 3-bet on the river, but these guys are pretty bad so its still probably profitable (albeit, a little thin).

Oh yeah, and raise preflop :p

this is my first real take on limit for a substantial amount of $$ besides freerolls. It is VERY fun so far! Thanks for the advice guys!

Pretty much all been said above - I'd probably have raised preflop as well.

Otherwise... I guess we can just flat call at 160 on the river, but if he's the kind of arseclown who'll raise you on the flop and then again without a jack on the turn I don't mind popping it.

yea raised preflop. but then not much you could do about that! in limit he was generally always gunna call with top pair then 2 pair on the turn. just unlucky.

I think you definitely needed to raise pre, why're you going to just limp in with 4 players behind you and a reasonably strong hand? This hand tends to be negative implied odds and you want position, so raise it and hope to isolate against the BB who should call with a pretty wide range getting 3.5:1 pot odds. I don't like the 3 bet on the river, a lot of his kings are likely to have a q, t, or 9, and it's extremely likely he has at least a king so I don't see a whole lot of extra value from betting there for the times he has kj, which is really the only hand I see potentially being played like that you're ahead of assuming he's not bluffing (which seems highly unlikely.)
