Nicely played. I like how you checked so that you didn't represent the 5, and he bet into you on the turn. Nicely done.

Thanks, I appreciate that. It was an interesting tournement. I had plenty of ups and downs. That was a 45 player MTT and I came in 7th. At least I recouped my entry fee. LOL

Quads were a bit of a waste there - you would have won the pot if you started with 9 high! You dont often get paid on these hands, you were lucky you ran into someone gifting away his chips.

True! I was lucky he called all in. Surprised the heck out of me when he did, especially after he flipped his cards. Not sure what he was thinking. Sometimes, not as often as on the free games, I will see someone go all in with a bonehead hand (8,6 or 9,8, etc).

The reasoning that I have heard is that if they can double up quickly then they have a more likely chance of coming in the money, otherwise they just move on to the next SnG without wasting time playing this one to the end and run the risk of not coming in the money.

I can see some reasoning behind that I guess, but couldn't do it myself. First of all, I can't see that as being too profitable and second I actually enjoy the challenge of building up my chip stack.

Recently I have been successful in coming into the money on these SnG's about 7 out of 10 times. For instance, last night I played in 4 SnG's. The first was I was getting no cards whatsoever and most of my chip stack went to the blinds so the first opportunity I saw to perhaps double up I took it and lost. I went into my second SnG and was getting better cards I believe that is where this Quad on the flop happened. Came in 7th on that and played another after that and came in 2nd. So 2 out of 3 times last time I was in the money.

I have to say that this is pretty good for me. I've been playing SnG's now since I started playing about 4 months ago and this is the first time I have come into the money.

I've take what I have learned about position, odds, percentages, outs, etc and that has helped.

I haven't had to replenish my bankroll for the last two pay periods so I consider that in itself a success.

Nice win but I have to give capt20212 some kudos for taking a stab to steal the pot. Now that I have done that, Excellent flop for you! Congrats!

ANYONE else had typed this, i'd have known they were being sarcastic - getting 1/7 odds on a total bluff with no outs, betting into SEVEN opponents - this must be the worst play i've ever seen. However, in your "alternative poker universe" bad plays seem to become good, and good plays become bad. Tell me, you ARE kidding me aren't you?

What are you saying Rob? Are you saying I can't determine a good play from a bad play?
