any alternatve to shove ?
what about pot size reraise to extract value from
flush draw/two pair/sets ?
or is this incorrect and why ?
are we just trying to win the pot on the flop?

Ship it, it's a freeroll. They'll probably all call so no problem getting value!! (particularly since it's the 1st hand)

well,
i did shove
bb folds
utg folds
button calls with Jc7c (flush draw and gutshot str8/flush)
turn 2h
river 3c (he hits flush).
i was just thinking was there anyway not to go broke.
if i had reraised he would probably would have called or shoved
if he thinks he has 12 outs (48% equity)
if he shoves i'm calling anyway.
if he called my reraise
i would then shove the turn when the blank came
maybe he might fold then because of reduced equity.(24%)
who knows ?
ah well at least i'm starting to think about things.
thanks for replys

Why would you want to play it differently?

You've got the nuts and are thinking about reraising small because that way he might fold some turns when you've still got the nuts?

Don't be results orientated - your biggest question here is how to get the money in the middle as fast as possible and shoving does that :)

Don't look for excuses not to put your chips in with the nuts and don't be scared of draws

A dream flop, shove and just wait for someone to snap call with their bottom pair, deuce kicker.

There is nothing you can really do about the suck out. It happens. The only thing we can really hope for is get our money in with the best hand and hope that it holds up/the other guy doesnt get lucky. There is no way you could get away from the flop with a made hand which is semi-disguised and shoving would have gotten you called by TPTK, Two pairs, sets, flush draws, and maybe straight draws of all which you are ahead.

The point of shoving is to get the flush draws to fold before they hit or make them pay the price to take the gamble.

As noted you will probably get the value and the risk anyway.

Nothing else you can do better.
Only in deeper stack situations could you play it out with decent sized bets and keep the opportunity to get away from it when the river hits if you were sure they were chasing the flush draw and not just bluffing the river.
