$Freeroll NL HE HU Tourney: Bad bet or bad break?

Sorry 'bout the title, saw the sticky after the fact . . .

This hand was late in a small freeroll (300 players, $50 for 1-18th). There were 12 or 13 players left. I was medium/high stack. The player I was vs. was semi-reasonably loose.

Stage #1528880598 Tourney ID 4187618 Holdem Multi Normal Tournament No Limit $800 - 2009-03-14 17:40:44 (ET)

LUCY FURR - Calls $1200
JBURNAPSO - Folds
*** FLOP *** [Jc 9h 8h]
LUCY FURR - All-In $6256
PETERR211 - ???

1) Was my 2xbb enough of a raise pre-flop to keep them from calling with any two cards?
2) Should I assume their bet meant they hit 2pr or trips, and just go away??
3) Is my top pair, good kicker and flush draw enough to call with???
4) What else should I be thinking here????

Thanks

It's a freeroll so it's easy call. You have top pair, second best kicker and the third nut flush draw. Even if your opoonent has the straight, you have 9 outs.

1) 2bb sometimes ok, sometimes you need to raise a little bit more
2) My first thought would be J10
3) Yes, just close your eyes and call
4) Think 1st place or nothing, need to take the risk here

1) It has probably been too low.
Raise 4 BB and the SB will fold any bad hand.

2) He will move all in with any hit.

3) It should be enough!

4) It is a freeroll and he will push with any pair!

But here's where I run into a problem . . . 4x the big blind is 30% of my stack. Which post flop leaves me two options, push no matter what, or fold and go away short stack . . . (which was, of course the end result anyways . . . . . . . )

I also don't see it as an all in pre-flop hand . . . lots to catch, but it has to be caught to make any sort of a hand . . .

But with the antes, yur min-raise gives the blinds great odds to see a cheap flop with a huge range of hands including all sorts of connectors and especially suited connectors. So with the stack sizes and the wide range of hands that a 2x raise allows, you will have a more of these outcomes. Of course you will also have some other outcomes where you hit too.

KJs itself is a marginal hand, you cant raise to more.now that you raised 2BB,you opponent have the odds call with a looser marginal hand.I think what you played after the flop have no fault. It is just that the luck is with him.

IMO, the all-in bet on the flop seems to mean hand protection against draw.
We could think of an AJ holding. Since your pre-flop raise is not high, maybe QJ or even J10 seem more evident. So it is easy good call. After it is just bad luck...

Your raise was a raise. K J suited ? Anyway, the flop really made that K J very strong. No matter what the opponent had, you have to go all-in or call his all-in here. If he has trips you have outs. Even back door straight, or if you really need it against his trips you may have a back door full house. Only thing you can do here is call. I can't see how you can fold this, you are already in the money.
