I would say to check-raise if he bets. I would more likely put Punami on a flush draw than having the 8(although it could be both). Then you have the chance of winning the pot right there, or possibly filling the boat on the river and really sticking it to him should he make his flush or straight.
The only thing I don't really like about this situation is that his stack is the one that can cause the most trouble for you.

What is he limping with? You should have made a contibet on the flop with your gutshot just to know where you are. you get a problem if he raise you there. on the turn you could fire a second barrel; at least youve 12 outs to get a hull house.

I think you are pretty safe.. There is a 1 in 13 chance he is holding the 8.. Actually probably less unless you think he is betting out with an inside straight.. I say your looking at a small pair or K9 or Q9.. Actually by the small bet out i would say they are right and he might be on a flush draw.. I would push maybe 1000 and hope to end the hand right there..

do you people think that there are enough outs after the flop to call the bet of 200?I think you have 6 outs, they are 4(8 to make straight)+2(7 to make set),may be you can include back door flush, but I dont agree.so the win odds is 6:39=1:6.5,but now your pot odds is 200:650=1:3.25.
so I think you ought to fold after the flop.
now the turn came the 7,its just luck.

Two things you have to be weary about. A straight on the board and a possible flush draw. I wouldn't be aggressive in this situation. I would call the reasonable bets. You do have outs. Praying for that board to pair up. If so, than you are golden !!!

If your talking about possible outs on the flop? he has 2nd pair, and a gutshot. The bet is only 100:300 pot. I think hes got a good price there...

Umm..... I'm not sure where to begin here. I was going to make some comments on 'the comments' but then thought better of it. Hmm... so where do I start???
Partially depends upon your table image, but way more often than not, in this situation to Start with.... I'm opening for a raise w 7-7,... and not just limping in. I don't want 4 or 5 players in a hand so that I can sit there and ponder over whether or not some donk's got 8-3s or something.

Raise pre... narrow the field.

Sorry... forgot to add.... you really don't know what your opponent has? Raise pre and you'll have a much better idea.

If you were in LP and had a couple/few limpers ahead of you,.. yah then for sure just limp/call in behind and see a flop but in most cases if I'm first in I'm usually opening with a raise.

If you cant put her on a hand, check, call a small bet, fold to a big bet, and hope board pairs on river.

I thnik you should re-raise him about 3/4 of his stack to use your chip stack as a scare. You have a great hand and I really dont think he wouldve seen the turn with a gut shot straight draw probably a flush draw or a pair of 9's. You shouldnt fold this.
