firstly you may aswell shove back over the top preflop

As played i call this every time, were getting 4:1 on our money and villain could easily be betting with a jack and no diamond or just the ace of diamonds

As played it is a call, I don't know if I like rasing with 88's UTG though. Limping with them is fine but by raising and calling etc not so much. I would probably have limped and folded to the raise and just let the shorty fight it out, it is only the 3rd level of blinds after all.

I know what you mean, but the raise was affordable at this level. Trust me, NORMALLY I limp here. Had anyone else reraised, I fold. I was just after a short stack. One of the two, I forget which, had just lost all but what he had left in previous hand. Sorry, should have mentioned that.

Thanks Steve

Especially for internet cards
if im live maybe not but
internet you always take the chance on taking to out.

What difference does live vs. internet make in this hand other than you have to look at the people when you turn over pocket 8's live?

I don't understand this. You were the first to act and there were 8 people to go. How could you be hoping to get action from one short stack when you could have easily gotten action from more then one of the bigger stacks? I would have limped with the 8's.

As played though, I think you have to call the 340.

thats why I was hoping to get action.

You know, someone loses a huge chunk of his stack, and without looking at what the blinds are, shoves in desperation or tilt...
I see it all the time at these limits, as I'm sure the rest of us do.

I agree with shoving over the top PF, but given your line, I think the pot odds that are laid to you deserve a call.

shoving over the top does not make you no more but does make your appearence at the table look way to aggressive causing the solid players to watch ya and the donkeys to target ya!
sometimes you win by folding or just calling or improving your appereance

yea not that to call, but i think i would fold, due to being out drawn, yea its not that much more, more at that time anymore is to much to lose especially when the flop is like that, i would have pushed more preflop or folded to the reraise with a caller behind me

ya if your calling you might as well put the other guy all in and then you atleast have a shot at the sidepot. I think I probably fold preflop because cold calling a reraise is usually a really strong hand and your probably dominated
