Villain is playing on a couple of the other 4 tables I'm on, and has been just as nitty. He/she's only played a hand or two at this point, and hasn't raised PF. I've been playing tight.

Our move is?

fold>raise>call

only problem with coming over the top here is we are pretty much commiting ourselves if he/she shoves. We have like 1400 in stack if we come over for like 600 its going to be almost impossible for us to fold. we are either racing or we are way behind here, im more inclined to fold here against this certain player.

ugh chuck this one is harder then I thought, against a nit we can get him to lay down a lot of hand like TT-QQ here. Im like 50/50 on shove/fold now.

Shoooove. The 5 BB raise is really really rarely AA or KK. If it is, well I say gg to him and load up the next one. It's a turbo! And even tighty mctight himself is usually raising AJ and AQ here. A nit is also the best candidate to force a fold of a medium pair here. Just calling is obviously kind of yucky because we usually miss and when we hit an A we rarely get value except for the times we had his weaker A beat in the first place. And I'm simply never (okay, <0.1%) folding AK in a turbo after one raise in a non-bubble situation

It's the usual problem: stacks are ugly to reraise, particularly with a 5BB raise.

You say he's tight but it doesn't mean this can't be a hand like AQ or AJ, because its still early in the tourney to make a good evaluation on how tight he really is. The 5BB raise though makes you think its more in the 88-JJ range.

I like to be aggressive PF with AK and although there is a good chance you're behind I'd usually reraise here because you can get many of those hands that are ahead to fold, but with stacks being what they are shoving is the only option. I think in this case its the best solution being that villain is tight, he'll probably fold 88-99-TT and if he doesn't you're either WA vs AQ or AJ, or flipping which is fine this early in the sitngo.

A smooth call is ok I think also, even if you're not getting the right odds if you're behind any c-bet made by villain would make it up if you hit the flop.

The fact that this was a tight-ish table also gives me the impression he's got a medium pair instead of JJ+. I think I'm with you on the shove, for reasons already mentioned.

I think shoving is probably best, too, all things considered. Will you get a nit to fold more hands potentially if your image (you said tight) is good and you do something scarier like raise to 750? Possible. I think either play has merit since you're in position. If OOP, the 750 raise is good as a stop and go, too, I think.
