Villain is very LAG (~40/15/5), and I've been TAG (~6/6/0).
We've been involved in one pot in which he raised from LP, and I came over the top (with 99). He folded.

i think we can call this with position if you have any reads on his postflop play; how he treats top pair, if he can get away from hands, etc.

Do we have a deep enough stack to call this though? I know we're getting incredible odds, but in my experience it's always been a big pair or AK/AQ making a raise like this. I hadn't seen him reraise PF before, only raise 1st in. Can we be sure our ace is even good if we do hit?

As for postflop reads, I have next to none as I had like 6 windows open at the time. He's just LAG in general.

I like a fold here. Odds look good; unfortunately in comparison to our stack it looks not so good. Even if we hit our ace and it's actually good, we probably don't get much value from it because he'll put us on it. If we hit our ace and he's got AK, do we get stacked? Can we fold? If fold, we should have folded pre-flop. And our J is probably going to be no good most of the time. Even on the offchance he has nothing, we whiff the flop usually and his strong looking PF play should earn him the pot.

without solid postflop reads, it's hard to call this. this might actually be easier to play out of position. if he cbets a lot, we lead into him to snap it off.
