Villian Stats (VPIP/PFR/AF): 37/20/0.7

poker stars $5.00+$0.50 No Limit Hold'em Tournament - t600/t1200 Blinds + t150 - 9 players

MP1: t76733 M = 24.36
Hero (MP2): t33765 M = 10.72
CO: t22590 M = 7.17
BTN: t79932 M = 25.38
SB: t36533 M = 11.60
BB: t94799 M = 30.09
UTG: t86194 M = 27.36
UTG+1: t54970 M = 17.45
UTG+2: t45045 M = 14.30

Pre Flop: (t3150) Hero is MP2 with A:spade: K:club:
UTG calls t1200, 2 folds, MP1 raises to t6000, Hero ??

$5 2R1A - 160ish players left, money at 135, I'm in 71st

Any arguments for anything other than a fold here??

Well, with that size raise he probably doesn't have AA/KK but you don't want to flip for your tourney, or call-whiff-fold. I'd fold unless you have a read that he's been doing that with junk.

Am I in the minority for wanting to shove here? There's over t10k in the pot when it gets to you. The villain is fairly loose, so either he's folding most of his opening range to our 3-bet and we increase our stack by ~33%, or he's calling with his fairly wide range that we have good equity against.

I feel like this is a shove you have to make in order to make it deep.

I'm reading my previous response and it's not making much sense to me anymore. I think I'll switch sides and add my +1 for shoving now (call me a waffler).

I also support a shove.

Yeah it would suck to bubble, but in my mind this is a hand where I can either fold and be ITM or try and build a stack to make a deep run.

This is a shove for sure. You have to win flips in order to go deep. Do you want your buy in back or do you want to win ?

Early position raise of that much suggests mid pocket pair but AQ, AJ shows up here enough as well. Shoving may take it down right there, or you have more than decent odds to win the hand at showdown.

his range is so wide. Shove and fist pump until the bubble bursts
