I'm probably bet/folding the turn (there might be a case for bet/folding the flop even), because now you're just guessing as to what he has - if you bet, he has to at least act like he's got an ace.

As played... Meh, it sucks cause you're sort of crippling yourself, but if you're calling the turn bet you probably need to call this small river bet, the Js changes pretty much nothing.

I probably lead the flop. I hate hate HATE " betting for information" in most cases but here I think we need to. Most of the time we take the pot down because neither villain has an ace and if we get called or raised we can be pretty sure we're in bad shape.

Plus if we don't lead things get messy, like they did in the actual hand. Since nobody bet the flop nobody is giving anyone else credit for an ace here and random Qx hands probably think they're good.

Once we call the turn I think we have to call the river, we still beat most non-Ax hands and we're being laid attractive odds.

If you call the turn you would have to call the river IMO.

Personally I wouldn't put him on the Ace.

Personally I wouldn't put him on the Ace.

Why not? Ax is definitely still part of his range and it fits his line just fine.

This is actually why I prefer leading the flop. Ax checks this flop more often than not if checked to because it doesn't' want to scare off customers and isn't really scared of being drawn out on. If we bet the flop and get raised we can be pretty sure KK is no good. If we wait until the turn planning to bet-fold things get messy: nobody gives anyone credit for anything and we open ourselves to being bluffed out or making a bad call.

If we're going to bet a street I figure it way as well be the flop. We get a little extra certainty and we rarely get forced to fold the best hand.
