standard cooler.

Just look at the math when you got your chips in. You have 38% equity in a multiway pot (which is good) and vs the bigger of the 2 stacks you're flipping with "dead money". Also, you have both players covered and while losing half your stack is never fun; the fact that you can survive this confrontation makes it too profitable a spot to pass up.

edit to add: The only thing I don't understand is why you 3bet to 8bb? Was it to leave yourself an escape route in case one of the large stacked blinds woke up with a hand? If that is the rationale I guess it is OK...but you must understand that when you raise to 8bb your decision is already made to call a shove of only 4bb more in a pot of 22bbs (better than 5:1 to call the all in of the pocket 9s...even if you think they have KK or AA you should call here given the pot odds).

But if you are going to 3bet to isolate with the intention of folding to a 4bet from the blinds then you should 3bet the minimum. 3betting and then folding 1/3 of your stack is not a good formula for success. I wouldn't want to flat on the button here because it encourages a move from one of the blinds. I would probably just jam preflop to exert maximum fold equity and keep the rest of my decisions easy.

I dont mind the 3bet if the rationale is to pick up more folding equity on the flop. But ideally a 6bb raise would be better then jam any flop.

But realistically we want him to call so yeah just shove it in..

Yeh, post flop I'm not worried about. Was just curious about what the best play pre was. Didn't feel I played it optimally and was after an opinion other than my own. Many thanks for the replies and I shall be shipping it from now on :)

Folding would be the worse play here. You played the hand very well so don't mind the play at all. I suspect i would have taken a similar line.:p

Without notes on villain this fold , because tight player do min raise with only 12bb , its look very strong , better fold and not risk with our 50% stack...
