$3.25 NL HE Turbo: Late game, hit mid pair against possible tilted villain who shoves
poker stars $3.00+$0.25 No Limit Hold'em Tournament - t800/t1600 Blinds + t75
BTN: t20840 M = 7.94
SB: t13337 M = 5.08
Hero (BB): t33323 M = 12.69
Pre Flop: (t2625) Hero is BB with 7:club: 8:diamond:
BTN calls t1600, 1 fold, Hero checks
Flop: (t4225) 8:club: 5:diamond: T:club: (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets t19165 all in, Hero?
Hero has image of a super aggressive opponent who likes to shove a lot and has been caught with speculative holdings a few times. Both opponents are nits; villain(player to hero's left) constantly folds to hero's SB/BB pushes and the other opponent(to the right) folds every SB to hero.
2 orbits back villain limped on the button; this was the first time villain had limped like this so hero was very suspicious. Hero had A8 and hit a A on the flop; he called a flop bet, checked the turn and lead out with a big bet when he hit 2 pair on the river.
Because of my aggressive tendency I suspect villain thought that he was outplayed on the previous hand. So that it didn't happen again, villain is quiet capable of pushing extremely lightly here. I'm not sure if I can call here; I think I'm ahead but I'm in a great spot so taking such a risk may not be worth it.
