$216 NL HE STT: Line check with AK in position 33bb deep.

Villian Stats (VPIP/PFR/AF): 41/23/3

Villain has been extremely active at the table, made some very questionable plays early on like stacking 22 unimproved on the flop, but he's also able to fold from time to time.

Line check?

is this a regular sng? or is it some kind of sattelite or steps?

either way, after you get check raised, dump your hand, especially if your on the bubble. id prefer 3betting/cbetting flop

It's a regular SNG. Top 3 paid, 50/30/20.

defo 3bet preflop.. this play differs if you have some shortstacks present, but with 20bb's the shortest at the table, 3betting is the best line i would say

postflop is weird, and bad, in my opinion.

i can understand betting the flop, but once your raised, why would you continue? i suppose you had decent odds, but its a big proportion of your stack..

I might just shove pre, but that's just because I'm bad with teh post-flop skillz, so yeah, :p

But otherwise, I think I'd fold to the c/r, even though we're getting good pot odds... On the turn, I think I'd just check it back and see if I hit the river, which I guess is kind of a weak line, but when we still have 20+ bbs we don't need to go nuts at this pot (which sort of contradicts my pre-flop strategy, haha).

2 real decision points in the hand. Preflop & the flop check-raise.

I actually think I like this line, as his flop play is so full of shit. Course, that assumes villain makes sense and doesn't just randomly take spazzy lines. Also, wtf is up with the STT thing?

The reason I don't 3bet or shove preflop is that I've seen villain snap call such moves with pocket pairs, and I haven't seen him do that with Ax even once, and getting snapped by pairs and folding Ax would be a terrible result. Maybe this observation is just pure randomness, but villain has been active enough that i've seen quite a few of his hands.
