4 folds, MP2 raises to t100, 2 folds, SB calls t75, Hero calls t50

SB checks, Hero checks, MP2 bets t350, SB calls t350, Hero folds

River: (t1450) K:club: (2 players)

I really have no idea if this was well played or not. I opted to fold on the turn since there were 2 callers, one probably had me beat.

Jonathan Little recommends to fold these hands preflop because even if I hit I good flop, I still am not sure where I'm at. Whereas Dan Harrington recommends that I should I call because of the great odds. Opinions?

Fold pre. Great preflop odds with a hand like that mean nothing to me at this blind level

Yeah, you're not deep enough here. SPR of 6 isn't really great for a drawing/implied odds hand, so just fold preflop.

What is this SPR?
Stack to pot ratio.

In this case, 1840/300 = 6.1

I think it was originally in an Ed Miller book where the concept is described, but the key point is this:

-Implied odds hands like SPR's that are 10 or higher.
-"Big pair" hands and AK like SPR's of 6 or lower.

The idea being that hands like 65s or 33 rarely make hands that you feel comfortable putting all your money in with. So since this occurrence is rare, you want to have the potential to be paid off enough when you hit one of these rare occurrences to make up for the times when you miss. The opposite is true for hands like AK/AA/QQ.

So yeah, preflop, you're investing a big chunk of your stack preflop with a hand that isn't going to often flop a hand you're comfortable stacking off with. Thus, the best move is folding.
