I would have made a pot size bet on the flop. All-in on the turn with no diamond.

You gave him nice odds to call his draw..not sure why you did.

I have to fold the river as played, it clearly looks like he was calling down his diamond draw and caught for the right price.

Check/fold river, next time bet bigger on each street.

because he will snap me off with Kx and 10x, and those and stubborn mid pairs should be more of his range than flush draws

HERO has position (hence it's imposs to c/f river).

This ^ and because how often are we expecting villain to check his flush here on the river?
It's a tough spot. I prolly call it off out of spite.

Flop is ok, def bet bigger on the turn, something like 600-650 I think. If you're honestly worried about the diamond flush then check behind on the river. However as played you have to call the rest of it off here.

I never expected him to turn up with a flush in this spot, especially given his river check, when he shoves i think im behind a significant portion of the time, but if he is capable of doing this with single pair/two pair hands aswell even occasionally i think we can call it off

Im in position, but generally check/folding any time a draw hits is bad
and betting bigger on flop folds out so much that we have good equity against, Im not convinced he had good enough equity against our hand to call.

betting much bigger on flop bad because we need to do the same with our air to balance so it costs us more when we get played back at/gives us less maneuverability on future streets

I thought that the king was a bad card for his range as alot of what he calls the flop with will fold to a bigger barrel on this card (10x, mid pairs under 10). obv took it too far looking at it now but that was my thinking at the time.

You leveled yourself into not getting value for your hand. If you're betting the flop small to balance your bluffs, that's fine, but then you need to bomb this turn card with bluffs + value hands. He's a passive player who called from the BB, if he has enough to call the flop he's calling the turn a ton of the time.

I would bet the flop slightly bigger because of the stacksizes ,so if you bet the turn bigger ,you have got a nice riverbet left and you could maybe play for stacks with your set.

Another thing with betting the turn bigger is that villain can't call as profitable with his draws because of his pot odds as well as his implied odds, and I think he has to either fold or shove there. And maybe worse made hands he will still continue here.
