Another tourney noob question.

How would I calculate(using Pokerstove, stack sizes etc) without any reads on any player whether to play this hand (call ? raise ?)

Or for only (currently) 50 chips, is it even worth it?
What if the blinds were 100,200 or higher ?

PokerStars - $10+$1|10/20 NL - Holdem - 9 players

Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

Hero (CO): 5,000.00
BTN: 4,990.00
SB: 4,980.00
BB: 4,580.00
UTG: 5,000.00
UTG+1: 5,000.00
UTG+2: 4,920.00
MP: 5,530.00
MP+1: 5,000.00

SB posts SB 10.00, BB posts BB 20.00

Pre Flop: (pot: 30.00) Hero has 6 9

fold, fold, fold, MP calls 20.00, fold,

Hero ??

A limp from that position looks pretty weak to me. You can try a re-steal with at least 3X the big blinds for starters. You have to steal, re-steal and make squeeze plays a lot at the beginning of tourneys, so when you get to double up your stack is much higher. :)

Its better to fold here.

What would be your draws if you call? A flush might not even be a guaranteed win.

The KISS option is obviously to fold. As far as using pokerstove to determine whether to play the hand or not, I don't see much point. It's not like you'd play 69s based on hand strength; if you do play it, implied odds are more of a factor.

It makes it easier if you give us an example that has a flop. As far as your equity goes... Let's say the guy in the MP has a 30% range and the BB & SB have any two cards - You only have 23% equity here against 36% for the MP guy. Your only chance to win anything here is by trying a re-steal with a bluff.

I think, the blinds are not that high, there is about 70 in the pot (if there are no antes) there is no point in stealing here, as you would have to bet 60-65 to win 70...with about 6-8% chances that one of Button,SB or BB wake up with a hand, or if the MP player has limped a big hand.

Though, late in the tournament, it is definitely a good stealing spot, as the blinds will be big, the stacks will be shallow (blind to stack ratio).. there will be antes, and a limp at that stage is really weak.

what? why would you want to steal 2 1/2 bb's when you're sitting on a stack of 250bb's? If the blinds were 100/200 i might understand making a re-steal, as for the 69s just fold it, it's trash.
