How should I have played this hand. Should I have bet the flop, or not? I was looking to trap, but trapped myself. Luckily, I hit an 8, but what should I have done here?

Wow nice river.

I'd normally bet the flop here for a couple of reasons. First, there are straight and flush draws on the board so you want to price them out, or at least give people incorrect odds to call with their draws. If the board comes Q82 rainbow I might trap and hope somebody catches up a little bit. Second, there are 3 people in the pot so it's more likely you'll get at least one caller if you bet, so you might as well try to build the pot. Who knows you might even get lucky and get check-raised by the BB.

Ok. That's what I figured. I don't know why I didn't bet, I guess I thought I wouldn't get any callers.
