Normally, I would have just called the 3-bet with KK in case Villain has AA. However, with a VPIP/PFR like Villain here, he's throwing a lot of shit around. Might be a good way of taking advantage of him. That said, a non-shove 4-bet protects against the possibility that he does have AA. If he has AA then he's not folding to the shove. You do manage to price out things like AQ, QQ, etc. with the shove and protect against get drawn out against.

No this is completely fine. He is going to call you with other hands than just AA, and when he fold you deny equity. Even a junky hand like A4 offsuit has around 30% equity against KK, so with the pot odds, he was getting, you would slightly prefer him to call, but its so close, it does not really matter.

Also when he fold, your variance goes down, which is good for ICM reasons, and by 4-bet jamming you discourage future 3-betting. This is important, when he is a chip leader and have LAG-looking stats. This time you had KK and loved to get 3-bet, but next time you might have JTs, and then you dont want him to 3-bet you light.

That being said it would also not a bad play to just call with KK and let him hang himself by being overly aggressive after the flop or perhaps catch a second best hand like top pair on the flop. But you need to be aware, that you allow him to realise equity, and maybe you dont get any more than a small C-bet out of him. So its more risky, and you are not always going to stack him, even when you hold.

With this stack size in this spot its in my opinion the best move by far to shove as you did.

no, if an ace comes on the flop you will be facing a tough decision post flop so its much better to shove rather than commit more than 20% of your stack and fold postflop if an ace comes on the flop and villain shoves...
