Given that he only started with 18BB, I am happy to 3-bet and stack off AJs preflop. If he was deeper, then calling has more merit.

Flop
He only has a half pot sized bet left, so this is an easy spot to jam. If he fold, thats great, and if he call with a hand like 88-TT, you are just about getting the right odds to draw out on him.

I like they way you played ,there are big stacks at blinds and it's not good to throw away 40bb vs them .
On the flop i would go all in .
