No, I keep having to correct the misinformation that you keep repeating despite being shown that you are incorrect. Like above you say that Pokertracker4 is the company name...... look at the bottom of their website and you'll see that the company name is max value software.

PT engineered the coalition, HM nodded and sold ownership. I don't blame HM, PT is the more advanced software so I'd sellout and merge too if I was them, it's the smart move.

I don´t think that using HUD is dishonest, that´s just a tool and some players need it to get improved.

Hey, I guess I don't have a clue either. Didn't know about the merger. Thanks for the info, now I do. Mind, I guess if I actually read the news that pops up every time I launch PT4 I would have known earlier. More fun to get the 'salty' version here though.

I will say this about the newer versions - I use so little of PT4's functionality, paying for the upgrade would be a total waste for me.

It's legal , for exemple if you use an illegal program on pokerstars , they send you an alert message to uninstall wich is not the case for a HUD , you can use Holdem manager , Poker tracker , jivaro these 3 are well known

on past form , once the upgrade is released they'll support the old version for about a year then drop support , so when sites change hand history format or release new games etc the old version will stop working

The cheapest good HUD right now would be DriveHUD.
here's the thread:https://www.cardschat.com/forum/poker-software-tools-61/drivehud-poker-hud-database-software-298263/

and here's the price list:http://drivehud.com/pricing

its just sad that many still dont understand what a HUD is for.

It pulls stats from your game so you can analyze and use them as your basis for your poker strategy. At least that's how I understand it.

And yes, DriveHUD is a great HUD software, especially since it's updated with more features and support for Pokerstars Zoom, party poker, and iPoker HUD skins to date. For all it offers, it's one of the most cost-efficient poker HUD softwares in the market. :icon_thum

For anyone else who wants to try it, here's the link to DriveHUD's customizable features. http://drivehud.com/features

Poker huds

I think legal poker hud are ok. After all there's no tell reading online and no real table dynamics. If you don't use one you may be conce6 a big advantage to other players.

Mainly ACR, unless you live in one of the regulated states. Also just for clarification outside these states there are no "legal sites". There are only sites, that accept US players. Which they can do, because they are operating from outside US jurisdiction.

It's important to note that a HUD does not give even the tiniest hint at how to play vs an opponent. It is not a substitute for being a well-rounded, thinking player.

You are right, with a bit of a caveat. Once the HUD has a large enough sampling of a particular opponents range and tendencies, YOU have some of the information you need to make more informed decisions. Naturally, the HUD does not tell you how to play a particular opponent - that is up to you.

The HUD is like the stats people for your favourite sports team - it tracks all the tendencies of the opponent, like knowing the chances of your opponent kicking with his left or right foot, depending on the situation. Helpful info, but you are still the one who has to figure it out and apply it.

Of course, I completely agree. I use a HUD (Poker Copilot) with built-in sharkscope support so I can evaluate not only in-game tendencies as the sample improves, but also get a sense of the player's success based on their SS stats. That said, it's still all about being an aware, thinking player. HUD stats can be extremely misleading. Is the player a nit or are they just getting really poor card distribution? Are they really that aggressive on a regular basis or are they simply correctly playing speculative hands?

When we're playing wide-field tournaments, we seldom actually get a sample that is truly reflective of the player's overall traits. The same tends to apply to a large, fast-fold cash pool. And for those players who wind up with a VPiP in the 80s for hundreds of hands, we've probably already seen enough rivers to know without the HUD that they're a whale. :D:D:D

Cheers!

Today was my first day using Drivehud
I was pleased with how easy it was to setup. It basically just did all the work on its on. I was expecting it to only collect data from today onward but it was actually able to pull all my hands from the previous month along with the players I encountered along the way.
A lot of it really is just essential info. I'm surprised at how little data ACR provides directly.

it depends on what limits you play. if you are on micro limits it will help you in some way but as you progress through the limits it will make less sense.
