The show featured celebrity poker players, including boxer Audley Harrison and writer Victoria Coren as well as Full Tilt-sponsored professionals, such as Erick Lindgren......

Why is this a surprise and how does it change anything for people with funds on FT?

Not sure anyone said it was a surprise. Think people were just looking for more info about this. I work in TV so can't see how production could have commenced without assurance of the prize money.

Well don't have to use the word surprise to make it sound like you are surprised. :p

I am just saying should be expected that their could have been a delay with the payment given the circumstances - and from posts above it appears there is no problem.

Either way it has nothing to do with player's funds.

I don't see any evidence of surprise in my posts. Just a request for any information.

The head of the production company has confirmed it is going ahead for this series at least.

It's not like FTP went out of business. They're still the second largest site out there and still raking in a bunch of money every day.

I would expect delays from FTP, considering their current business status. But most other reports and indications lean toward things getting flowing again for them somewhat soon. No increased worries, imo.

One possible explanation: the transfer didn't go through because Full Tilt has run out of money OMG the sky is falling.

Another much more likely explanation: Full Tilt, along with Stars, are reviewing / suspending their advertising spending until the mess is sorted out. OMG business people are making rational decisions and the sky is not falling.

Hmm but they are probably having huge liquidity problems right now
