Why are ACR members so Anti-Social?

I understand we're out for each others money but if you win the pot and I send a message saying NH(nice hand) or GP(good play), I don't get anything back. I make sure the person speaks the same language too so I know its not that.

after reading your profile I see no account for any of our games, so I assume you don't play here yet
and mean ACR players from general public.
probably some of the same reasons listed here but you won't find that true here near as often.
maybe from some here because of the explanations given but most will give a "ty" if chat is on and seen.
we are much more friendly here than the general public anywhere.
we are family here

Usually chat is simply off and I don't remember pop-us next to your nickname when you send a message there

Well if i wanna chat i go to the CC Forum and not to the Poker Tables. I guess it is just the wrong place.
Actually quite the same at real games. You can ask me anything during brakes but you hardly get a word out of me at the tables

The chat feature on ACR has not always been working very good the last few months so many people including myself do not pay much attention to it. It seems to work if you want to type in things like gl or nh or ty but if you want to say more then you go to the work of typing it in and hit return but nothing appears. After a few times of doing that I gave up on it.

I don't play on ACR but maybe they are multi tabling and don't have time to write to other players because otherwise they get Zzzzzzz ed.

I agree with you that on ACR chat is at a minimum to say the least. Seems other sites I have played on more people where open to chat besides NH GP etc. Have met a few friends playing online that are still friends today even though the site we met on is no longer.

Why would anyone write something back. You have a desire to congratulate and show your positive emotions, and that's good. Your karma is a plus. At times, players do not want to be distracted by unknown nicknames, since their attention is now at the gaming table.

I have no chatting possible on 888 poker as you can't even say "nh" nice hand nothing. Only find others throwing eggs, tomatoes and cakes etc. Poker tables aren't meant for social chatting but everyone his their own views.

If I see it, I'm going to respond - sometimes not looking on chat tab - watching some document. on yt, movie or something like that.

I play poker with chat disabled and even on sites where there is no such possibility, I end up not even reading the chat. Maybe your opponents are like me

I think there are a lot of players who play at many tables and just don't pay attention to chat.

Maybe they don't throw any attention in chat...they are focused on the game

Multi tablers or people doing other stuff while playing. Like watching TV between hands.

i don't even open ACR chat, it's just awful and not convenient
chat is very distracting if you play multiple tables

Not Mandatory

Chatting is not mandatory, for a myriad of reasons:

- A few players are antisocial and, I'm sorry, buddy, it's their right.
- Many players play multiple tables at the same time.
- Others watch Netflix or similar platforms while they play.
- Some study or read.
- Many people turn off the chat.
- Many players chat on WhatsApp or Facebook while playing.
- I suspect that many watch pornos or "entertain" themselves.

On some occasion, in that past in which I used the chat, I came to think that I was playing against bots and that is why they did not respond. That is the paranoid side of the matter. Enough to turn off the chat, don't you think?
