I call it like I see it, and when people don't understand what the hell they are talking about, I will call them what they are.

Are there some bots on online poker sites? Yes. Are those bots in any way affiliated with the site's management? No.

They are individuals that program bots to play for them and collude with one another. The sites find these bot rings all of the time and shut them down. Another one pops up a couple months later, and bam, shut down. Many of them are run very poorly and are easy to spot(Not by the naked eye, by statistics). If you look and see how those bots were discovered, it was by going through those bots stats and there being big red flags.

These things will likely never go completely away, just like how in live games there is collusion that goes on, and it will always be there with people who want to try to cheat. Both online and live, they eventually get caught, many will just try again, only for that to cycle back through again.

What William Hill did was completely different, they openly(saying admitted sounds like implying guilt, which they weren't doing) announced that they would be using bots so that people would be able to find a game regardless of how many others are online at the moment, and/or get tournaments to their minimum entrants when it was close. The increase in rake happens, but only because if there was no game for the human person to play, they would no be playing period. They didn't hide that they were using bots, each one of them had the word "bot" in the screen name.

If you had read anything since they announced that besides just that the word bot was in the sentence, you could also see that statistically, the vast majority of those bots lost money, there were even people who would seek them out because they were easy to play against.

Would I play there? Probably not, I don't really like small sites unless I have to play on them. But if that was my chosen site, and I wanted to play, I'd rather play a bot right now than sit for 3 hours waiting for someone else to log on that wants to play the same game as I do.

Ill try to dig up thread from 2+2 where they found 12 accounts with similar names that played breakeven poker and see which site they mention in it...
Private used bots are simple, they wait for premium hands and play them aggressive,i think there are still in business

playing 30 SNG at the same time is not impossible for regular players at low stake. They follow their fixed push/fold chart and do not monitor their opponents. At lowest stake you can make some profit, or at least break even with this strategy. However I do believe this won't work at higher level buy-in because good players will figure out your pattern and your push/fold range. With regards to Bots when I was multi tabling about 6 tables and Pokerstars turn on the chat screen that required me to type some words. This can distinguish real players from bots.
