it is true that the level of play is very releve on poker star.but I think that the higher the buy-in are the less you run risk of falling on this type of player who is close to put all these chips on this type of flop.

These are exactly the type of players we want at the table regardless of buyin. You still get these type of players playing at higher stakes its not limited to the micros, you are correct there may be less of them at the higher stakes, but there are always people willing to gamble and 9/10 times we can get our chips in good and run around and high five the table :p

I can never understand the logic that people want to move up in stakes to avoid the fish that play hands like this. If you cant beat the fish then you sure as hell wont beat them at higher stakes fish or not.

So, where to start? as I said in some posts before, one month ago I decided I will try to build up from my baby bankroll(25$) by playing SitnGos. It was going up and down, but I did reach about 45$ at one point. However, I managed to get back down to 23$ in just two days by simply having so many bad beats that it was unbearable. I didnt play tilted, whenever I would tilt I would take a short break so it doesnt affect my play. Even after all that, I managed to keep my cool and come strong as ever today at the tables. And guess what? literally the worst day of poker in my life. After few really unlucky tournaments, my last tournament on this site was about to start. Just few hands into the tournament, I got KQs, 3bet, guy calls. Flop K 8 3, 7BB raise, he calls. Turn Q. Another raise for about 13BB, he calls. River 5. I go all in, guy calls with 5 5 in his hand. So he was calling me with 5 5 for half of his stack till the river and he gets a set. This one simply makes no sense to me like most hands I've played on this site. I definitely decided to quit poker, or poker at pokerstars at least. Definitely to most unfair site that favours people that play with some ridiculously wide range of hands. I wouldn't recommend it to ANYONE except pros who learned really good how to deal with some terrible bad beats and unreal hands against worse players than you. Good luck to you guys, hope you all achieve your wanted goals!! Bye :)
i learned to play with a wide range of cards when playing these sites--:dong: which is totally not how i would play in a real world game.......like the saying go's if you cant beat them 'then join em-------

Hi,:)

Thanks for sharing your experiences
I play now for over 3 years on the pokerroom of pokerstars and I recognize your story.
This is one big scam! don't play online is my only advice !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can mention thousands of hands similar to yours where players calling worse hands of even going ALLin preflop and me having big hands and also after hitting the flop they still calls and getting the only card that could save them on the river, they would even beat the statistics.

DONT PLAY ONLINE !!!!! Biggest scam ever
Casino are secured and while playing you are watched but a front of your pc nobody can controls if you're cheating

The poker sites all over the world are aware of it but it doesn't matter for them since there are millions of players world wide they still get paid everytime. First of all they get paid trough the rakes and secondly if they have sponsered players inside.

what a load of c**p

no players get paid every time, look at the multitude of blogs on forums such as this and 2+2 etc and you will see that 100% of players have downswings and upswings. long term the variance gets ironed out and the ability to manage the swings is what separates the good players from the fish.

I have seen "sponsored players" eg pokerstars pros going on 50+ buyin downswings, on the flip side they also have massive upswings too. What benefit do the poker rooms by allowing cheating or being involved in cheating? they generate huge amounts of rake regardless.

If you cant accept or handle this, mentally or bankroll wise, then you really should find a different hobby.

It's kinda rigged

I belive that pokerstars is rigged. My first deposit was 20$. I menaged to climb up all the way to 2400$ in just a few weaks. After that, i started to belive in magic. I started to play cash games, and i lost everything :D
Im not saying that im a great player, im just saying that i started to lose woth aces against ace king, or jacks against TT, actually in few weaks i couldnt win any major hand. So i started to play 888. And there are a some weird shit happening from time to time, but its not rigged as pokerstars. Just saying

Yes....I am very wary of online poker also. The best advice I can give is to stick with freeroll and avoid depositing money at all costs.

I think 4 beginners is party poker will be the best choice

Party poker has some tough fields, lots of stables staking their players there.

I am an example of taking badbeat, pokerstars literally screwed me, I jah I reached my bank in $ 500, but ALWAYS that I am so well in a tournament with a stack stuffed I end up taking a sequence of bads that I go to the last ones placed, that leaves me very angry.

You should had played the hand a little less aggressively IMO , I agree with a check call on the river . Poker is full of bad beats - if you are aware of this , you play your A+game with patience and you have a good BRM , there is no reason to stop playing . You might want to try other pokerrooms with less sharks at the micros/min stakes and more fish than PS has . 888poker and ACR are good imo .

I wish you good luck for the next games , less bad beats and an upswing :) .

I think it is 64spades that shows you the players' skill level(star rating). This gives you a good idea of their poker knowledge. Give it a go folks. Loads of freerolls too.😊

PokerStars easily has the toughest field. Great for learning though through PokerSchool.

888 and ACR seem to have a pretty soft field.

Pokerstars is the best site for beginners:

They have a wide variety of play money games

They have the most traffic on play money games

They have regular games around the clock at the smallest buyin

They have a Pokerschool where you can improve game and get some great practice for free or almost free.

They have Homegames you can setup your own private club with games and get a friend to teach you game.

Pokerstars has skilled players, a large number of games to choose and thousands of players .Maybe for beginners its not that easy but that it could be challenging ....About bad beats you can't avoid them in any poker room .

Absolutely. It is a general consensus that one does not improve unless they play against a better opponent. And yes, bad beats are a bummer..... But when your luck is in, it is in...... And when it is out, it is out.

I understand you, it happens often. But we have to admit that this is just a random. You just were not so lucky. I often meet the posts of players who call different reasons for their failures. Including bots, the wrong (in their opinion) random number generator, and so on. But this is just a matter of chance and luck.

Come back to the game soon! Good luck to you!

I must agree with you, PokerStars is worst site for "beginners", because i feel like players level of play is highest at PokerStars. I know what you feel tho, i often get beaten by "river card luckers".
