So, where to start? as I said in some posts before, one month ago I decided I will try to build up from my baby bankroll(25$) by playing SitnGos. It was going up and down, but I did reach about 45$ at one point. However, I managed to get back down to 23$ in just two days by simply having so many bad beats that it was unbearable. I didnt play tilted, whenever I would tilt I would take a short break so it doesnt affect my play. Even after all that, I managed to keep my cool and come strong as ever today at the tables. And guess what? literally the worst day of poker in my life. After few really unlucky tournaments, my last tournament on this site was about to start. Just few hands into the tournament, I got KQs, 3bet, guy calls. Flop K 8 3, 7BB raise, he calls. Turn Q. Another raise for about 13BB, he calls. River 5. I go all in, guy calls with 5 5 in his hand. So he was calling me with 5 5 for half of his stack till the river and he gets a set. This one simply makes no sense to me like most hands I've played on this site. I definitely decided to quit poker, or poker at pokerstars at least. Definitely to most unfair site that favours people that play with some ridiculously wide range of hands. I wouldn't recommend it to ANYONE except pros who learned really good how to deal with some terrible bad beats and unreal hands against worse players than you. Good luck to you guys, hope you all achieve your wanted goals!! Bye :)

If i understood, you're quitting because one major bad beat. Many players can show you worse bad beats than that, try to continue and better days will come.

In my opinion the best site for beginners is 888 Poker. In PokerStars, you should play poker school games.

Yesterday i won CC freeroll at Pokerstars, so yes it's rigged... seriously, there is no better room for beginners, if you want to risk your money, you'd better try to improve your game and even more important: try to find a good bankroll management.

I don't think your issue is site specific. At lower stake levels you'll always find newbies who overvalue there hand and sometimes get lucky and a lot of casual players who play with anything just for the crack.

river on pokerstars is something incredible.

I saw such things on the river, that I myself thought many times whether it was all rigged.
it happens so often on the river that you start thinking that you were deceived

i think if u want to rate a site depending on hands ( u need to play hundreds of hands to do so ). I agree with you pokerstars is not the best site for beginners, but he is know as the most credible one , and with less problèmes with users) . In my opinion, 888 is the best site for beginners .

I had a decent hand on 888 poker..... So I raised.... Then once I raised 888 poker allowed another player to enter the hand. I complained but haven't had a response yet.

I think you should not rely on the worst week of the year. Many difficult and interesting hands are found here. This is not a reason to throw a favorite hobby!

All sites have bad players, you just see more of them on a high traffic site such as pokerstars.
ATM(10:30am CST) there are over 100k in traffic, that is a large pool of fish, so yes, you will see a lot of badbeats.
Try a different site that has less traffic, don't give up on poker just yet.

Ok so you got sucked out on but in my opinion you overplayed it significantly.

There is loads of context missing for example what were the stack sizes?, did you have any history on the player? had he seen you 3bet bluff at any point? what positions were you in?

Based on the way you described the hand he had position on you.

I am going to assume the player wasn't under the gun if you were 3 betting with KQ OOP
It sounds like a blind vs blind or button vs blind hand maybe?

So you 3 bet to 7bb, based on what you said this is early in the tourney so maybe not an unreasonable 3 bet sizing.

When the villain flats your 3 bet what range are you putting him on or are you only thinking about your own hand?

if he is in a late position early in the mtt i would assume A10+ and any pair is a reasonable call, maybe even suited connectors in the hope of flopping a hidden monster especially if he has position on you. If he is in an early position AJ+ and tbf probably most low pairs early in the mtt are probably in his range.

So looking at the flop 2 sets have you crushed (you have a blocker to the other though its still possible) AA has you crushed at that point and AK also has you crushed.

When he flats your bet on the flop did you think about his range? You bet 13bb into a pot of 14 maybe a bit more with any blinds or dead money but I will assume pretty much a pot sized bet? Thats a big chunk of your stack to commit with TP IMO especially on a pretty dry board (there aren't any drawing hands out there).

Turn, 4 possible sets (though you have 2 blockers) and some draws, you didn't say what suit the flop cards were? was there a flush draw out there too?

river pretty much a dead card but adds another set to the possible hands he may hold.

Why did you jam the river? you are only getting called by better especially early in the MTT, you cant win it there and then so don't risk your full stack on 2 pair unless you are 100% you have it. He must have had you covered to bust you. You could have got away with just a check call in this spot if you felt you were ahead and still having a playable stack.

I will occasionally take a line of calling like the villain did against a nit if I can put them on top pair for example, knowing that there is a good chance I will be able to bluff or semi bluff them off later in the hand. The guy probably was a fish but thats exactly what we want. I see so many posts on forums about people wanting to move up to the midstakes from the micros and such to avoid the fish that play any two, but why, this is where we make our money :D

These are just my thoughts but others may see things differently I would be interested to see if anyone else thinks its over played or how someone else might have played it.

Instead of quitting why not put it chalk it up to being sucked out on, analyse how you played it and maybe get others opinions on the hand ( I am definitely guilty of not doing that enough on here or any other poker forums tbf). Grow as a player and watch your roll grow too. Its a marathon not a sprint.

What?! Villain didnt fold their hand on the turn when you were a 95% favorite?!

*gasp*

Its a good thing you're changing poker sites because i just can't see how you could ever profit playing against those players.

Calling with only a 5% chance to win. Unbelievable

Hopefully, the players at the new poker site you play at respect your bets and fold when you're huge favorite to win the hand.

Successful people at their failures experience patience and hard work.
And what are you doing to learn how to play better? Judging by your bankroll, this is not enough. that's all. try your best Good luck.

I agree with some earlier comments that were already made. First off you should look at the hand objectively and try to decide what you could have done differently.

I share the opinion that you may have overplayed it so that may be something to think about. On the river there's no reason to expect he's calling you with less and you're not allowing a bluff.

But most importantly - if you're getting sucked out on for a few $ and you go on tilt like that - how will you react when you're playing a 1200$ cash game pot and you get sucked out on? Tilt control unfortunately is a major part of the game.

And it's probably the hardest one to master for those (myself included) that suffer from tilt....

Control your emotions and you'll beat the game.
