PokerStars 7 (PokerStars 6 is retiring soon)

Online poker stars has information about the official launch version 7 from today ...

I am forced to update into pokerstar 7 clients.
but honest to say.
i don't like almost everything in stars 7.

First the design is more like a cellphone version clients
the home game button is too small
the playmoney option is too small hard to find.
the playmoney cash regular table and Zoom table is mixed , and all messed up.

the new game lobby design is horrible...
country is being replaced to national flags.... that is horrible.
well, if I want to know where is player from some unknow European countries, I need to check and find the flags not google their country names...

the setting button shrinks to hardly to find...
if want to change some settings it is pretty worse for me to find where they are, than using to click the settings from sub menu.

and because the news section, think 32bit adobe flash player is not working so well with 64 bit windows system.
the lobby and table frozen more often that .... old version.

For me it is NOT inerface User friendly update.
and
My old clients is customized version.-- my customized version is much better than the new version, for me.

it brings me NOTHING but big trouble to set up from the very beginning.

Completely agree.
I was also forced to take it and find the interface terrible.
Hate the cellphone or database form design. Fonts are poor. Jagged edges no longer crisp or rounded. Looks like it is running on linux but doesn't even have the benefit of a Linux client.

I Miss the proper Menus. Filters do not work as well as the old tabs for displaying game groups.

True it has some more toys, like the graphs, but are they really useful? and are the country flags any help?

The best part is the Settings Revert to pokerstars 6 option if you can use it.

I am interested in others opinions.
I don't like change so I didn't change over but now it looks like it will eventually be mandatory. I will stick it out instead of opting back to 6'th.
I would like to hear both the positives and the negatives

The best feature is definitely the Favourites, finally catching up with the Full Tilt UI
It is just so good.
Create and save lots of different favourites with good descriptive names and every game you want is just a couple of clicks away.

i am playing at 7 and i will continue to use it. there were some tech problems during the beta testing but it seems that it is solved

I did not know that PokerStars 7 was included with PokerStars 6. I discovered this when I clicked on "Try PokerStars 7". It was an instant conversion; no download needed. Poof PS7 was there!

I guess we can go back to PokerStars 6 just as fast with the option.

Anyway I will stick with PS7 since PS6 will eventually be unavailable. PS7 seems cool for now.

I had done the upgrade from version 6 to 7 as soon as it is available, but tives serious locking problems, so I went back to version 6. Now I was forced to upgrade to version 7 and the problems continue ...

I had an update yesterday to PS7 and all the buttons were unreadable and there were so many filters, so I reverted back to PS6.

I have the new pokerstars 7 and in my opinion is better than the previous. You all really have to try it. You will like it.

Not liking the 'New' PS7 lobby...

In a concerted effort to prove they are not perfect, they have foisted the new PS7 upon us. I wasn't overly impressed with their last 'upgrade', and this new version does nothing at all for me.

The lobby may be fine if I were to spend 2 weeks getting used to it, but I won't, instead I will bitch about it, with examples like this;



This is for today's CC Fall Frenzy game. Note that nowhere on this page does it tell us what game we are playing. It could be HE or Omaha, Limit or NL. It could be stud with blinds. I have to go back out to the lobby to make sure.

It slows down my computer. Pop up tables and windows take long to appear.

Have to revert to PS6.

I like PS7 a LOT... i tried to go PS6 again and i miss PS7 features too much.

The only downside is that if you have a bad connection, like mine is sometimes, it is a lot slower than PS6

The PS6 game lobby by comparison;



I can't think of anything else I need to know to make a quick decision.

new lobby features i like:

1. You can see what is the prize for the next one out without needing to scroll till you find how much it pays.

2. I can see how someone's stacks flutuates in the "chip graph" feature, wich gives me an idea on wich players are risking more their stacks in a constant way.

3. When deep in the tournaments with few tables to FT i like the tab "tables" in wich i can watch other tables without needing to open them.

4. I love that it says how much starting chips do we have in the lobby, not needing to click on tournament info.

5. i can search a players name to find his tables, and i can click find all the pros in the tournament just clicking in "highlight pros"

6. i like the flags in search, i can find all my fellow brazilians quickly.

well.. those are the various reasons i like the new lobby. Without mentioning the Mercury table theme that is awesome.

but if ps6 works better for you its great, its just my opinion

Well after reading all the comments I am sure it will attract a lot more fish that like shiny things.
The new design will not make me a better poker player. I have all the setups for the PS6 and all the poker tools working. I see no reason why to move to PS6. Unless they will put out a table theme better than the black one on PS6(more friendly for the eye) and I do not see how they could do that, I will never move.

The upgrade seemingly did not affect PT4. I am fairly sure the upgrade only affected the lobbies and how we find games.

I got forced to update last week and it was buggy as all hell, and I reverted back to PS6 amd was happy again, this morning when I started Stars I was upgraded automatically again, this time it is working fine.

Still don't like it but I will put up with it.

Talking about the Poker 7 that I just got forced to use...........I see an option to revert to 6 but I don't know I was forced to get 7 because i've been avoiding the beta version for months... Maybe i'm just not use to it yet, what are your thoughts on it?

Btw I think it's great. Took a bit of time to find things but other than the above I've found what I need.
