Has anyone else noticed that Poker Star freerolls are disappearing? The poker news Free roll on Sunday for $250 is gone and the Poker CasionOrg is not posting passwords anymore.
Seems odd after poker stars no longer accepts Pre Paid credit cards in canada that they are taking away all ways for the low level player to play.
Makes you think about playing some place else.

Almost forgot about the Rake the Rake tournaments all of sudden disappearing as well. That was a great 1 cent entry game. Where did all these Freerolls go since the beginning of 2024?
What is Poker Stars doing?

a pokerstars friend made all tournaments into tickets and it's a good thing you can still play on this poker site because the poker site has excluded so many countries from this poker site so just play and get tickets and be happy that the poker site still exists. Hope it will be for a very long time

Pokerstars turns into the bottom of the room. they once bought out full tilt, and now they are following the same path themselves. I wonder if the cardschat freerolls will remain and whether they will be monetary equivalent, or will the tickets also be prize-winning?

As has been announced earlier in the forum, CC freerolls in PS are converting to tournament ticket prize pools effective January 22, 2024. I guess its time to move to microstakes & manage bankrolls. :)

Better would be to change sites. Bad idea to encourage their behavior by giving them more rake :p. Other sites have better real money games anyways.

Just gotta hope PokerStars comes back around after global depression ends

OR, you could do what most people do when they want to play poker... Pay for the buy-in.

I wonder if Moorman, girafganger7 & CDarwin2 will also be considering leaving Pokerstars with this ongoing freeroll removal? We wait & see.

fwiw, Pokerstars just brought back a Rewards program that can provide 60% Rakeback to those who qualify (freerollers unlikely to qualify) so if anything they're making improvements to the site in hopes of acquiring more players.

with a bit luck, good play and patience one will still be able to convert some tickets into cash. maybe a cash that is much bigger than any freeroll win.
this has absolutely nothing to do with anything full tilt related.

no i dont really like these changes but they are completely understandable from their perspective.

about full tilt, I meant that poker stars once bought out this company because it was dying, and now pokerstars itself is dying((

Star coins and the deal are outdated a

nd honestly terrible promotions. One give you fake coin worth a penny each. The other one lets you gamble them away. Now they will just give straight cash and tickets. If you want merch use the cash to buy it.

I don’t know if this is a good or a bad thing. Take back changes are often in the site’s favour but on the surface it seems alright.

Where’s my Quantitate professional!!!

Poker Stars is getting worse each year, no surprise that GGpoker is already the biggest room by far and also ACR is having more players on some days. Not only because they are removing freerolls, but their promotions in general are very bad. I know that this month they started a new reward program, but GGpoker also started a new rakeback promotion that is way better and not only good for medium-high stakes players.

It's good for the poker site to issue internal currencies and support them, like powerpath tickets, tournament money and such... These type of currencies can not be switched to real money instantly, so thats why they're good. Also If you win $100 you can withdraw them, BUT if you win $T100 tournament money then you will have to use them to play tournament = make rake, which is good for the poker site. Smart decision for the site.

Everything changes and all that remains is to try to adapt to the changes, as now in PS the freerrolls will be tournament ticket awards and no longer in cash

If that's a good change or not , time will prove it , I look forward to see the changes next month . For the time being I cannot see any freeroll for cash at the lobby .

I wonder what tickets there are going to give with the CC freerolls . I hope top prize is 11$ ticket , so that more players to win better tickets .I do not like now that at the power path freerolls first prize is a 109 $ ticket , that means less winners , and crazy gameplay in heads up , I would like it like ot used to be , giving away 11$ tickets to many players .

Too bad Poker Stars have eliminated the Vanilla Prepaid option for depositing money in Canada and the banks won't touch a Gaming site deposit with a ten foot pole. It is off to the Casino for me to play any poker. thanks Orifice( I know which one you are by the way)

They seem to have lots of freerolls where about 3000 people play for 5 tournament satellite tickets. I never waste my time entering those ones
Hm .. depends on which .
I like playing the pacific rim special freebuy at night.
Already got in the 162 $ Pacific Rim Special twice for 80 cents in total
Unfortunately haven't cashed those two times :D But it's real nice for chest progress. That got me at gold level back then (last year)
