I have been losing player for half a year now. Just checked my stats from Hand2Note to see what I am doing wrong. I quess I am playing on a wrong site...

Can this possibly be real? That's over 40bb/100 in rake WTF! Maybe these stats are false because this is absurdly high.

Where are you playing? This seems absurdly high

One mistake you might be making is playing too lose passive, i.e. not trying to win hands preflop with aggression to win rake free pots ( at least in most poker rooms)

I'm not a cash player but based on their website, they state they have a rake in cash games of 5% of the pot (post flop). I just checked and pokerstars has 4.375%.

You can find a rake comparison here:

Oh, didn't know that hands2note calculates with such an arbitrary value instead of updating according to the actual rake table. Doesn't really make sense to me since they are pretty static

I would assume it doesn't. 🤔

The manual says it should be calculated correctly if it's included in the hands. But I don't play cash, so I have no idea if this is true. 😶

Maybe some other cash players here with Hand2Note?

Or OP, have you checked a few post flop hands, if the rake is calculated correctly?

If you are playing a traditional TAG style, then the rake for 6-max cash games should be around 10 BB / 100 in the micros. Maybe a complete maniac can get up to 40 BB / 100, like if you open ship in half your hands and get action. But then you would not be a close to break-even player. So I have to assume, there is something wrong with the rake computation done by Hand2Note. Does not seem to be something to worry about, and nor does your results. You are down 5-6 BIs over 15k hands, which can easily happen in cash games even for winning players. So just continue to grind on and try to learn and improve :)

Guess I misunderstood your post. I found this thread on the topic, seems like hand2note processes the rake info as described in your poker rooms hand history so if the information is wrong the error is likely to be found in the poker rooms hand log:

Your VPIP is to high, that's why your paying so much rake. Or your spewing a lot and putting way too much money into pots.

Seems to be a problem with Hand2Note. Partypoker shows a more reasonable 6bb/100 rake
Thats even on the low side for 6-max. One possible explanation might be, that Hand2Note calculate the total rake for the table rather than your own rake contribution. So that for instance even if you folded preflop and paid no rake, then if someone else saw a flop, it will still calculate the rake for that pot.

It looks wrong. The rake might be high and if you pay a passive style you could end up paying a fair bit but not that much. I think something is not quite right with the calculation method.

By way of comparison I played just over 20k hands at 2NL on pokerstars and paid $32 rake (9 handed), according to H2N
