Party Poker starting stacks

I'm currently playing only very small stakes and the odd freeroll but can someone explain to me why on party poker the starting chips for the $2 PLO KO is 50k while the starting chips for the $2 PLO8 KO is only 5k with a similar structure? Thanks.

It does not really matter. The important is, how many BB you start with, and how fast the blinds go up. On most sites you can make the software show BB instead of chips, which saves you from doing this conversion manually in every single hand.

I understand that but it isn't just the smaller stacks it's the larger blinds. A bad beat at the hi lo can take most or all of my stack with the first hand; the same doesn't happen usually with PLO unless I play like a lunatic, something i try to avoid.
