Glad your acct was re-established...you're fortunate that FT didn't contact your local 911 & have law enforcement show up @ your door if they thought you were a danger to yourself -- this is what eBay did when a peep indicated she/he was going to kill her/himself in one of their forums...now this was back in the day when eBay was still a 'small' community (had less than 50 emps & prior to IPO), not sure if this is something they would/could still do now that they're such a big dog.

Yes, this ^^ did occur (vs a FOAF story), I was one of the peeps chatting in the forum @ the time...eBay's support (@ that time) also moderated the discussion boards; the mod who monitored our part of the community immediately took action & let the users know what occurred to relieve any anxieties.

About four weeks ago, my gf and I had an argument, she kicked me out and I threatened suicide. I thought at the time that she was never going to let me see my son again. I even started the process with a box cutter (lol at the electric razor btw) She and her father actually stopped me and restrained me... I did not lose any poker accounts, but I was "detained by the police" and sent to the local hospital crisis unit for a day... same day that boner went missing ironically. long story short - I was a bit f'ed up for a while and still am I guess....

Looking back it was stupid and we people all say and do things that we regret later or do not really mean.

FTP if the thought crossed/es your mind maybe you need to evaluate and possibly talk to someone... not necessarily a shrink or anything like that... but not necessarily not one. I hope it really was a joke and I think you are honest when you say that... but attemted / threatend suicide is a legitamate threat that must be taken seriously by anyone who it is exressed to or around.

Do not get me wrong... the sick side of me thinks the situation is hilarious, but in actuality realize that threats of that kind can have serious mental and emotional repercussions for individuals that have to read or hear you threaten your life... if some one was to tell you that they would kill themselves if you did not stop being a smart ass would you think it was funny?, and the next day they did... would you still be laughing?

IDK this post(mine) prob should not be in this forum at all and is a bit morbid, (MODs should feel free to move delete at will) and I did not want to share a lot of this, but I think it is serious, and I hope that you did or do learn something from this.

I get that... I just hope that is all it was. If the thought enters his mind, however I think maybe he could try to talk with someone... I myself have hid behind a tough/sarcastic exterior much of my life, and I used to joke about it... but now I think the fact that I allowed myself to joke in that way may have allowed the thought to gain power in my life. I think joking and sarcasm are necessary in life... but I would hate to see someone slip through the cracks because they were seen as a joker and never meant "anything by it".... oh wait n-e-thing...lol
