I just played this for the first time. I got 2 first place finishes, one third place, and first in the overall. Even with all the good finishes this does not seem to be very profitable. It was real fun though!

yeah these are great i think, if you just play by the book, your gonna get chips in ahead. whenever you r running really badly. You play in these. I mean you have to have very bad luck to not get some of your buyin back somewhere, if your ever bored, or been running bad best thing to play in i think. just finished , 2nd, 2nd, 2nd, 3rd, in a 6 handed one....finished 3rd overall COME ON.
Talk about a bad spot though, trying to play 3 heads up games at once, and 3 handed game. All i heard was BEEP every other second.

i think yeah if you play the $1 like you guys said, your gonna run into a lot of bad players and your not gonan win much money. but if you move up to say $5.50 6 handed. u cash in 2 (winning one) and you made a profit already. if your gonna play em, better move to 5 dollars atleast.

Alright I said I'd had enough, but I kept playing them...and losing overall(mostly to the rake) I found them annoying and addictive at the same time. I wanted to do better but I'm no good at single table NLHE in the first place. Now they have added HORSE and I had the same summary as o_O

Playing a game I was decent at made it much more enjoyable :icon_tong I think I'll keep playing these starting at $2 and move up the stakes after a few good results.

Yep, these are fun and challenging. If you are a good multi tbler, you'll kick butt. I am okay at Multi tblin and have had a 1st overall and a 2nd. BabyNut took two 1st and a 2nd overall. I goes fast. Everyone should at least give it a go at the lower levels.
It's actually kind of funny because some people finish with 3- 9th place finishes and an 8th. Those who do place, usually place in several. Fun concept. Check it out. Have some fun and don't worry about plus or minus a .20 rake!

This is the thing though - if you just played two regular SnGs and cashed in them, you'd have made a much bigger profit.

After a brief moment of thought, I figure these are mostly just a rake-generation gimmick for Full Tilt. Rather than having three people take the money, they spread the prize pool very thin over almost the whole field.

So some people book a small loss, play more games on their way to going broke and pay more rake along the way. Others book a small win, but it'll take them more games to win the same amount they would in a regular SnG, which once again means more rake.

Absolutely, rake-city, churn, churn, churn...just like a bowling alley; gotta keep those lanes occupied, rent those shoes.

If you must have the "excitement" of a matrix, you just run 3 or 4 SnGs at once and no need to deal with an insane prize structure. There would be a fairly large lag getting 4 regular SnGs going at once with any game other than HE NL but then, of all the games, the matrix structure is perhaps the least attractive for HE NL.

I've never played more than two tables at a time, but I played the matrix 3 times and placed 1st twice and 2nd once. You earn 2 points for knocking people out, and 1 point for everyone you outlast. You do have to decide fast. If you got it bet it, if not fold and move on. Try it you just might get lucky. :D

Not for me

I checked this out. (only watched). It took me a few minutes to figure out the payouts because it looked like the winner only got $.90 ($1 + $.25) for a 1st place win. Little did I realize that the prize pool was divided up into (5x) $0.20 games. One for each table (x4) and one for an overall. I tried to watch all 4 tables and the leaderboard, but there was so much information on the screen, that I had a difficult time even placing all the information on my screen (even with a 22" flatscreen). There was so much going on that I couldnt even fathom playing in this.

Really not sure, hell of a lot of trash talking in these. And look at this - 1st, 2nd, 2nd and 7th, and I come 2nd in the matrix? I didn't get any knockouts in the last game - sorry but Omaha Hi lo isn't about knockouts, it's about accumulating chips.

I think they need to work on the format.

On the plus side, good entertainment for the money.

i tried a $1.25 one and ended up finishing first at a table and 3,4,5 in the others. knocked out quite a few people and i ended up in like 6 in the matrix points. just got $0.90 for winning one table. I didn't like this at all really.

This came up today... with the new software update....

I don't know, I checked them out... and I don't like them...

I think they are geared towards the MTT junkies... you know those guys that play 4 or 5 tournaments or ring games at the same time...

What do you think of them?

I don't normally like to play a lot of multiple windows - ring games or tournaments a like. I have to admit that I kinda like the setup. It rewards overall good play which can be very rewarding. Its also something new and puts a twist on my favorite SNG.

The only downside I can see, is the frantic hyper-manic feeling I get from playing 4 screens

I played a few of the matrix games, kinda cool but to much work for the return.
It is a good way for full tilt tie up players so they can't play other sites at the same time

I have tried a few. I played on the play chip tables first to see what they were like and I didn't like them. Four tables at once was to hard to concentrate on the other players enough to get any reads for me. Thats just my thoughts.

I did well at the matrix!

It took a few tries. the key for me was to be really aggressive even with marginal hands. Most people were playing only good hands. I would push and only fold if someone pushed back twice. as it is hard to focus on marginal hands hitting when you have snap decisions, so use that to your advantage.:)

I like the matrix. It is different. And you have to be on your toes. I will admit though, it is not a money maker. But Like I said it is fun and playing against the same people on 4 tables is something new.

The trick is to take your time and wait for a good hand. In the few I played it was basically the same people on each table doing well.

I would reccomend that you try it at least once.

I tried one, mainly to try 4 tables for cheap. I have a hard time concentrating properly with two tables when it gets short-handed.

How can you get a proper read on your opponents when that darn chime's ringing every few seconds? So everyone's playing the cards, or just light 3-betting, and it's a zoo.

I was the only player who placed in 3 of the 4 tables (2nd, 3rd 3rd) and I won.... 1 cent!

One other player placed 1st & 3rd, and he made... 1 cent!

I'll never do that again. Whew. Never knew so much stress. :(

How can you get proper reads?
You are playing the same ppl one 4 tables!!
How can you nort get a read?

I think these are good for building bankrolls. I think if your a decent player you will almost always make your buy-in back and more than likely turn a dollar or so profit playing the $2.25 one.

Pretty much. And a donk at one table is going to be a donk at the other 3 too - i've only played 3, but I saw one player in a 6 player game come last in all 4 tables.

And why are people complianing that it's too manic? Don't they realise that their opponents are playing 4 tables too?

just makes the rake more brutal. nifty scheme for FT though. however, it does make for less variance compared to buyin, so $50 deposits prob could start at $5 + .50.

The rake is the same. It doesn't matter the same amount of money is being paided out both ways so it doesn't matter.
