I know i have to earn 10 blue chests within a period to advance to next level.
I know that points required to get next blue chest increase.
When you have 4 chests, points required have increased from 400 to 800.
I never got chest nr. 5 so i dont know what vill happen for chest 5-10 regarding points required.
pokerstars support can't or will not help.

Anyone of you who knows?

I think that its not the worst reward system, but I think, that pokerstars should increase the outcome of the chests. I think it would be nice to have more freeroll tickets and maybe a bit of a variance in them. So that you could get lucky in a chest:rolleyes:

And to your question my friend, chests 5-10 require the same ammount of points. When you get to bronze chests this changes. I hope i could help you.

To me it is not a matter of the value of the chests.
To me the problem is that id is not transparent what it requires to get to the next chests, and it is not documented anywhere. And you think that is OK?

I was on 2/10 on my blue chest and it seems to me that I have gone back down to 1/10 on blue chest after a week, so what is the required rate to level up on chest to keep the count going up to reaching level 10?

I think you have to get a chest at least every 30 days to keep the amount of chests growing.

By the way, did you know there is a "strange" way to decrease the amount of points required to get next chest?

Lets say you are required to earn 800 points.

Then just avoid raking a single cent for 30 days, and the amount of points are decreased to 600.

Repeat the process for another 30 days, and you are back to 400 points required.

Strange method - right.

Pokerstars does not earn a lot that way :)

They are not meant to be understood by us but by themselves. And that is why you don't understand it. They intentionally make those terms and conditions and all that hocuspocus difficult to understand.

If they wanted people to understand these things they would just talk only about dollars and cents and would not confuse people with all those things. Blue chest??? omg.. I dont want to know more. At 888poker they have points and Gold tokens. Some other site they have iron coins. All those people treat us like if we were totally retarded who get excited about some stickers and things like that, or small children to whom you can not talk about real money.

Then my suggestion is just forget about points and bonuses and all that bs. Just play poker with your own money and you will be a lot happier.

Sounds so easy, but the rewards are - like it or not - a part of reducing the cost assosiated with playing poker, so it is important for the overall picture.

I play on Pokerstars most days, 3 - hours in the evening mainly $5 and $7 SNG. I complete a chest most weeks through this play. I am on gold level currently. The rewards are rubbish at this and lower levels to be honest.
45 points for every $1 spent in tournaments play.

The point requirements are tailored to the individual player in a way, which only PokerStars know. I have also noticed, than when I started playing again after a break, it was fairly easy to earn chests. But then suddenly the price of each chest went up 200% of something. The idea behind this is to reward casual / losing players to make them come back and play more while not spending money to reward those people, who already play a lot and perhaps win money on the tables.

In principle I see nothing wrong with this. As a "for profit" player your main focus should be to win money at the tables. If there is essentially no rakeback, thats not great, but it does not have to be an absolute deal breaker, if the games are good, and/or the rake is low to begin with. For me all of this does not even matter, because in sweden poker sites are not allowed to offer any kind of rakeback. So I dont even get Stars chests any more, and to be honest I also dont miss them.

I have now finished my first 30 days without paying any rake to pokerstars.

My points were reset, and the amount of points required decreased from 800 to 600.

The idea is now to spend another 30 days without paying any rake and see if the points required to get a chest will decrease to 400.

If so, then I'll spend a little rake on pokerstars again until the points required increase again.

I'll give my feedback here in 30 days.

I like poker stars, their soft, tourney, missions but really do not like their rewards program. I guess probably it is the worst one if you compare with other rooms. Years ago it was ok but now it is ridiculous!

I mean once I tried it to see what happens if I reach X level, so I pushed the games in certain times to catch the level ups. The first three levels were easy, the 4th golden chest needed many 100$ spin&goes to complete and once I reached the diamond chest I realized its the max I can. :)
Rarely you are gonna find cash in them, I did find some 5$ or 10-20$ but most of the times not, so the energy that you put in will not be given back. Also the k.o. freeroll tickets where the prize pool is 10K will be given from the gold chest.
So for fun I can definitely support you, but in my opinion this can be a trick to the eyes more, so don't kill much money in it for the chests. :)

Bytheway I was a little off, each step of the chest the limit is increasing, that's why it is hard. I also remember a 28day limit to step up or something like this which can be hard in higher levels.
I have to correct myself, if you can collect all those steps in the chest I think it would be awesome. I didn't find any info from them neither.

The purple chests are fair, but the blue ones, I think can be improved. The rewards are usually insignificant.

It actually worked, It now only required 350 points to get a chest.
To my big surprise, then i vas able to get 10 chests only requiring 350 points pr chest, and thereby advance to next chest level.
That was nice, but I still don't understand the system
