I am playin NL $2-5 blinds, minimium $200 buy in; max buy in $500
I have a little over $500 in front of me.
I am in small blind with (kk)

Cards are dealt, a couple of folds, then a raise to $45 to see flop (from a loose player), 3 callers (including myself). I am in trap mode, cause the raiser is ultra aggressive, and if i make over pair of set, I plan to trap

Flop KJ3 (all off suit)

I decide to make a feeler bet early to see if somone tries to push me out and comes over the top. I bet $40, the raiser comes over the top to make it $100, one fold and one call. Now to me, what to do? I see the straight possibility and there is not flush possibility. I think the raiser might be legite and have AK. So, I move all in for a little over $500 total. The raiser ponders and calls. The other player folds. Heads up (alright), all i know is he is dog and i like my odds.
I show set of kings, caller shows qt offsuit.
I was like WTF are you doing.....
turn 4
river 9
I lose to open ender for over $1k pot..
Another bad beat by another idiot there to lose and got on a draw to win a big pot...

One more $500, to bust that idiot...
This is one hour later and the idiot has depleted some of my money that he had won, but i can still double up thru him and get back to even... I am about 40 up...

The idiot makes it $35 to see the flop as usual. 5 callers including myself...
I was hesitant to play this hand but the idiot is the raiser, I have KT off suit with pot odds...

Flop is AJQ off suit, again I have flopped the nuts... I feel for certain that someone has a big hand in this pot.... Idiot bets $60 and gets 4 callers, So I bump it up to $200 to play. The idiot moves all in and gets another caller, so I have to call ( I have the Nuts again) We show hands...

idiot with AJ, first caller with AQ, me with KT (nuts)
Dealer automatically flips J on fourth street (which kills me)
and 5 on river
IDIOT WINS $1500 PLUS AGAIN....

I CONGRADULATED HIM AND LEFT, WHAT A HORRIBLE WEEKEND, NOW IM BACK TO PLAYIN PP @ THE 0.25 AND 0.50 PL OMAHA HI LO

 Bad Luck. That's all I can say! I had a string of bad luck a couple of nights ago. It seems no matter what you do, you lose. Tough break.:(

Its bad luck, but you also shouldn't be playing with your whole bankroll in a game you can't afford.

And exactly above is the reason why.

Hope you manage to recover, good luck

You need to realize that you went in as the favorite in both hands. That's the mark of a good player. Of course you're going to get drawn out on more than the idiots. The idiots are routine dogs who occasionally get lucky. Hey the other day I had AA and flopped an Ace the other day only to loose to the idiot's twin who went all in needing runner-runner to fill a 3 card straight. Guess what?

Thats really bad luck. I think he played the 2nd win ok, he was ok to raise and ok to put you all in. The 1st hand is horrible, he is calling with 8 outs, making him over a 2-1 underdog, and the pot odds dont give him value for the call either.

The problem with these kinda players is that it can be hard to put them on a hand and when you do call they always seem to either get lucky or have a really good hand.

I have learnt that if I lose one or two hands to aggressive players I just move tables, otherwise they can force you to call with mediocre hands and almost put you on tilt. The fact you went in a nice favourite both times tho is hard to take

That is just horrible, but you played it just right. It sure seems like a very loose game with all preflop callers with significant raises. Maybe you left at the right time. I would have probably been doomed to try busting that guy.

Rule #1 -- play the tables that are actually LESS THAN YOU CAN AFFORD

You did get unlucky with a moron who calls everything but it does sound like you were playing above your means.

The other thing you could have done was move to a table where there wasn't such a loose player.

Here's some advice:

1) Learn how to manage your bankroll.
2) Don't call in LP with KT suited with 4 callers to a raised pot, this is just stupid...I don't care if you hit the nuts on the flop this time, you won't almost every other time.

chicubs1616, I agree that kt is not a strong hand, but on the other hand, NL is a game of not making mistakes!!!!!!!!! NL is not set up for the best hand to win preflop. NL is a game that winners make the fewest mistakes. I fully believe that great NL players dont play that much better than anyone!!!!! It is just the fact that they do not make mistakes that cost them their bankroll... They may lose 1/4 their bankroll, where a losing NL player will lose it all...... I think limping in with KT is a great play, because NL is a game of trapping and sucking out.... Also, you want to get paid off so you had better have a hand that isnt easily predictable (KT). In a five way pot, great odds for your hand (I think). But you cant value you hand too much on pairs, unless two pair of better hits. what do you think about MY POKER THEORY ON NL.....

I think limping in with KT is a great play, because NL is a game of trapping and sucking out

Well if you think this, the situation you brought up does not concern limping. You called a $35 raise with KT suited...thats 7x the BB...with 4 callers in front of you. If you think you have the best hand here or a good "trapping" hand, you need to re-evaluate your game.

NL is a sucking out game only if you are a bad player...if you suck out a lot.........

In a five way pot, great odds for your hand (I think).

Ok, so lets say you limp in with KT in LP with 5 players to the flop. If the flop comes K74, do you think you have the best hand in a 5 way pot? You have top pair mid-kicker, that usually isn't the best hand in a 5-way pot. Ok, so lets say the flop come J-10-4, do you still think that you have the best hand? What about 10-8-7? There really is no idea flop for KT suited besides flopping a flush with the ace on the board, or flopping a straight or a full house.

I think you give too much value to KT suited personally, it's not THAT strong of a hand.

KT is not a strong hand, but KT pays well when won with in a five person pot. Think about the amount of hands that will get apiece of the flop if you make you hand.....

also, 35 to see the flop in this game is not uncommon, ultra uber game, big money and alot of people that want to be a gus hanson. I know I am not the favorite going into the hand, but I know that I will make less mistakes that most of the other players, I have no problem folding the top pair, but if i make nuts, I will almost certainly get paid off.... You should think more about the PAYOFF of the hand you have. Anyone can play pocket aces, that takes no skill... Skill is knowing when to holdem or foldem, great players dont always play the best hands either.... Why are some of the Poker Pros Millionaires (because they play the best preflop hands), NO!!! Because they play the hands that make money!!! If they miss they muck, If they hit they raise and get paid off... Would you have put me on KT, Probably not... Which is great because, next time I will win and get 3x action vs two players with a combined number of outs equallying 5. The hand just had a good opportunity to pay well and that is why i called. Gappers have to hit you in the face but they pay great!!!!!!!! and by the way KT is not that weak, I see a ton of people call with 67 or 89 suited, KT (offsuit) is very dominant over both of those hands (heads up)

What a horrible beat

That is a horrible beat and a horrible call by the other guy. You seemed to play that hand real well, just a bad break.

I think K-10 should be limped in with as well....I only raise high pocket pairs, big slick, and and combination of Ace and another face card.

Agree. Even though it was a good play, putting all your money on the line is not the way to go. Set a limit for yourslef....this way if you do lose, you will not go completely broke
