I took a break from poker for about 6 months while I finished up grad school. I now have a master's degree and I'm out working full time in the real world, so I decided that I could get back into this poker thing. I'm pretty much a breakeven player and always have been...but with rakeback I make money. I got $188 this week from rakeback!

aah, Congrats on your grad school completion. I barely have bachelor's degree and my head hurts to even think about grad school. $188 from rakeback? wow, sick. what stakes do you play? Did you also know that during the 6 months of your inactivity on full tilt, they made adjustment and changes to rakeback on full tilt. They changed it from dealt method to weighted contribution.
I started take 2 and I'm up 3 buy-ins so far... Hope it continues. Good luck to ya. And btw, that Megan Fox pic is really catching my eyes.

Easy money, be cautious playing Rush though.I'm up so far but you meet so many eastern Europeans and they all want big confrontations.
If you take them on you may find you get the $25 but are down at the end.

Bought two $10 ring game tickets for 150 IM medals. Cleared 5 points two tabling 6max pretty quick. Decided to go Rush. One table over a few hours and up total 3.5 BI's + still have both tickets:). Cleared about 80-100 points toward total 500 needed get full $20 value for tickets.

What a day! Musta hit 10 sets and got payed off on a few. Had a guy 3bet shove 80BB's when I had aces. He flips over 66, lol. Luck more than anything that I am up at all:).

Buying my tickets right now:eating:

I know last time they had this promotion, I had the same issue on like day 3. Sent support an e-mail and they credited me the day after they reviewed my points.

No biggie, hopefully. :)

Another day done. Finally made some profit. Only ~1 buyin but it's progress for me. 5NL seems to work for me and it helps when there's a donk that'll pay you off with 3rd pair multilple times :D

day three made so far just $1.18 down over the three days aa taking hit 2x for buyins:mad: But am sticking to what I said and playing within limit.01/.02 and not going with any rush I was buying a iron man ring game ticket but realized the 10 or 25 dollar ticket would have me playing out of brm If you use the ten dollar ticket I am thinking I would have to play .05/.10 fr is this correct because of buying in for 10 dollars?

In my experience if you play $0.05 / $0.1 you can run up 5 points in about 10 to 15 mins. Two days in and I have been playing PL Omaha which usually creates decent pots but limits the risk.

If that is the case, I will go for Omaha then. I'm just used in playing for freerolls. May be this is for a good start.

I played the first 2 days playing cap 5x2nl and 1x5nl(because I only started this promo with less than 4$ in my account from the CC freeroll and OFC fr minus some i donked away), but than the third day i moved to just regular 2nl (no cap). I have more than tripled my BR since day one and have 3 days knocked out so far! Hope I can keep winning at ring games, but that's what I've always enjoyed to play.. unsuccessfully in the past tho. I seem to be doing much better since taking that break from real money play for those few months. Still don't have enough hands to know whether I'm just on a hot streak or not tho. This promo is def gonna be a great BR boost tho if I can manage to get all $25 and not lose any money in the meantime.. than I'll get plenty of hands in to see!

hi

This sure is a great promo except that I don't like the cash tables much at all & I refuse to ever play on anything RUSH period (I think everything RUSH is terrible). I just hope it costs me less than the $25 while playing to win the free $25 ha ha;)

I enjoy these promotions quite a bit. I earn at least 5 points a day playing on cash tables anyway, this just makes me play 2 at once, which I also often do anyway.

Free money.

anytime tilt makes a promotion targeted to micro stakes, it makes me want to play at pokerstars...

Oh why are you such a Mr. Grumpypants?

What doesn't get washed right back down the rake funnel gets donked off by 80% of the players earning this and feeds right up into the stakes you play. Free money for the little fish just makes fatter little fish.

Oh why are you such a Mr. Grumpypants?

Probably because I have a black card in my pocket that states I pay FTP a minimum of $18k per year for the pleasure to play there. So a free $5 bonus does not excite me enormously.

It's fine that they do micro promotions, but they should scale them up by offering a better bonus for people who rake a lot more. After all, the huge majority of their corporate profits comes from small and medium stakes cash games, yet they focus most of the promotions towards microstakes or donkament players. It's frustrating sometimes.

I looked through the thread but didn't see anything posted about this:

After thinking about it, it seems to me that full tilt probably loses money with this take 2 promo. At first I just assumed that any promo they started would most likely yield profit. Maybe their goal is to get the players who don't normally play every day to get in the habit, but other than that I figured their rake wouldn't justify the $25 bonuses they're promising. I'm interested to find some details I've overlooked.

I think my math went something like this:
The minimum points it would take would be 45 to get the $25. That means (I play rush so I assumed 9 man tables) 405 total full tilt points. 405 points means $40.50 in raked pots. I've been playing the .02/.05 so I think the rake was .01/.15 which would max out at $2.7 in rake. These are conservative figures with likely mistakes, but even if I'm close to right the error would have to be huge to turn full tilt a profit. I'm sure a lot of people hit it hard and end up losing a lot of money - maybe more than I'm thinking.

Feel free to correct any mistakes you see as I'm not positive of all my numbers.

I may very well be the lightest weight cash player at CC for volume and stakes.

I pay well more in rake each month than the $25 they will pay me for this promo.

They may not rake enough in 10 days from me to pay for the promotion, but it hardly matters.

I think they see it as a promotion for their own site and to encourage certain types of play.

1. Get tourney players to play cash.
2. Get small cash players to multitable.
3. Get people on Rush tables.
4. Provide a reason for mmultisite micro players to stck to FTP.

Pretty cheap for them if you ask me.
