I have been messin around with it a little and I like it. It has some really good tips and lessons as well as a way to earn points and extras to use on FTP. Anyone who hasnt taken a look at it should imo, even realy skilled players can find it useful I'm sure.

its a cool idea, but might hurt how easy it is to profit off of badplayers. So i guess its a toss up.

Wow, all you need is time and plenty of it to read and play as much as I would like. I'll try checking it out later down the line when I have some time.

I'll have to find some time to do a little reading about what they sent. Seems like I hardly have time to play anymore.

But not if they provide free education to the fish, surely ? That`s going to make it hard work to anything.

Information has been available to fish for ages. There are books and poker blogs galore, information on how to play is just basic good sense if you want someone to play your game.

However, I'd wager that not everyone who takes the challenges will have the discipline to apply them over time (or for that matter over the course of a tournament).

I just took on my first challenge. I think it will be a good way to keep my head in the game. (shouldn't that be a given If I am serious...)

regards

when I first read about this, I thought what a load of rubbish/ waste of time, but...

its informative, sure there will be decent prizes for points and the freerolls too!

In answer to above- only the challenges give points- passing every sit n learn wont earn you a single point....

Another tip- dont think you can abandon a sit n learn and start again- it wont register your score (I learn the hard way!!)

Trying to figure out freerolls- think you might only be able to earn one $5k ticket a month- not sure if 5 satellites a month is the max (might be), but you wouldnt want to qualify 5 times in one month and use all your chances in a single month (anyone managed to carry forward tickets from last months?)

It isnt very clear, but hope we can all share info and work this thing out!!

I'm halfway through my first challenge (requires me playing 100 consecutive hands without limping 5 times! which I'd guess isnt the easiest to start on!)

Think you might be able to 'switch' challenges and come back to one you half completed but not sure (anyone?) - know you cant have more than one challenge active at any time (otherwise guess you could just play and watch the tasks get ticked off inadvertantly!)

Playing cash games during happy hour helps- lots of points, play 2 tables so you also getting the 'take 2' bonus and you get the academy points for passing challenge tasks - 3 bonuses at once!! (must admit I'm $30 down from pl omaha and $10 up from nl, so hasnt helped my bankroll much so far, but have taken a few 2 & 3 outers on the river when allin for $20/ $30 pots so hopefully due some luck!!)

OK so:

1) Can you carry forward tickets to $5k freeroll?
2) Can you play more than 5 sats to the $5k freeroll in any one month?
3) When does the Academy store open?
4) Can you 'switch' challenges without losing the bits completed?
5) Is there any other way to get points other than the challenges?

Someone here must know!!

1)From what I understand if you qualify for the sit-n-learns you will be automatically entered into that months freeroll. If you don't show up to it they just blind you out. It sounds like the tournaments that ran this month had less than half of the players in them, because no one knew exactly what times they were as there was no real announcement or no e-mail reminder or anything for players. (Use ctrl + R to find out what tournaments you are registered for while in the FT lobby)

2)Not sure, but if i understand your questing as being "Is there a limit to the number of sit-n-learn freeroll tournaments you can play in a month, then I believe the answer is "No"...there is no limit. Again this is just my understanding, you might be better off asking this question on the FT forums.

3)A FT moderator posted in the forums on monday (2 days ago) that he hopes to have preliminary pricing out by the end of the week, and then open the store up in 2-3 weeks. Hopefully he is right, but then again on March 10th he made a post saying the store would hopefully be open soon and well...that was a month ago.

4)Yup you can switch challenges. I have 4 challenges up right now where i have 2-4 things completed on each one. I've found that for me the pre-flop challenge is the only one I can complete without making an effort.

5)As of now, no. The only way to get points is to complete the challenges. Each one can be done 10 times and there are...I think 6? challenges right now. It was stated that sometime within the next week or so they should be releasing 1 or 2 more challenges, and it has also been stated that they will try to release new challenges every few weeks.

If anyone has anything else please feel free to ask...I've been studying up on these challenges quite a bit and hope that the store offers some good deals! If the store is at least halfway reasonable this should be something good for everyone. I mean...you basically get stuff for not doing anything out of the ordinary.

Aha, I spot another word that Americans spell incorrectly. :p

I am guessing you are British...We broke away from England (like many others) so we could spell words/run our country the way we wish - among other things. You would think after over 200 years, you guys would realize that. We may do things the wrong way now and then (see President Bush), but that is for us to decide, not Europe, England or our soon to be Chinese overlords.

I notice 'enrol' is listed as a variant according to the Merriam Dictionary....hmmm seems to me you guys need to get with the times and stop living in the past. Not a criticism - just a wise a** remark. :D
