When I first started online poker, I did these alot, and won several tickets, but have never managed to do anything in the round 2 tournies, so I have basically given up on them.......but they really are good for the moments when you are tilting and just want to blow off some steam and join in with the "all-in every hand gang".

There is alot of people in them. But be ultra tight and in a hour 12k becomes less than 1k.

I think that iv won 1 ticket from these freerolls. But its just shame how long it does to finish the tourney. Sometimes it feels that the 2700 player freeroll at fulltilt is huge ones but then someone remainds me about ps and ft freerolls start to fel easy ones again lol.

They're rediculous... for freerolls with a small amount of people give PokerWorld a shot sometime. I can't stand their GUI but their daily 5pm 300$ freeroll usually only has approx 400-600 players, with a cap at 2000.

Every year I give away around 300 lbs of pork, I sell around 30,000 lbs. Its is in my best interest to do these "giveaways" to attract new customers. However I can not afford to give away 10,000 lbs. poker sites are the same way. Freerolls get people in the door but the sites make no money on them (there is no rakes in tournaments) So if you were them wouldnt you rather have a couple free rolls and a lot of cash tournaments, or would you rather do all the work, it takes the same amount of effort to do freerolls as it does buy ins, and receive nothing or do all the work and get paid?

Now that I think more about it, in general the PokerStars freerolls are a pain to go through, but they have some special freerolls that can make up for it.

Cowboy8112's post reminded me that for this year's WSOP Main Event, PokerStars gave away something like 80 packages worth $12,500. Of course you had to survive two tournaments to win the package, but apart from FullTilt, I don't recall any other poker rooms offered a freeroll for a $10,000 buy-in tourney.

They need freerolls that produce cash right away. The closest thing they have right now is the 10FPPP games

does anyone else think that the max ppl in the tournys at pokerstars is a lil to much???....i mean 10,000 ppl or 12,000 ppl i know they r freerolls but wow just wandering if anybody thought that was to many ppl??

Thats right, by the PS-Freeroll every time to much ppl. I think it was, because its one of the greatest Site of the world, with the most players and with the average littlest bankroll. So it comes that theres no Freeroll under 5000 persons.

If you look at the freerolls there are in "regional" of PokerStars, they are more interesting. There was even a $ 5 dollars easily won in the Summer Game 08, and caps in profusion in Poker Club.

The 80k freeroll is so hard to register for. Usually it fills up in less than 45 seconds. I also find its really hard to win. 10000 entries and 27 paid. Tough.

There sure are too many but at least 99 posts to a next tourney are guaranteed!!!The key,i think is to do well at the beginning and then sit out...

A post out of 99 is definetely guaranteed that way!!!!

Yea way to many people but the majority of them are multi account users and bots if you can build your chip stack early you can leave and still make the top 99 to qualify for the next tourny..

PokerStars has an enlightened approach to freerolls. Knowing they pretty much have to have them for the advertising, they make them so painful as to be uninviting. They can justify this by suggesting these freerolls approximate the size of the WSOP Main Event, or what the Main Event might be by the time any of the folks playing those freerolls are actually able, talent wise, to play the WSOP.

Thus a gazillion people fighting for a pittance.

I've won 4 entries to money tourney on PS. That was when I was a free rolling crazy. I cashed 2 of the four for some micro cash. Both tickets I won were not NL holdem but were NLomaha hi and razz. The Razz was most boring and longest. I prefer FT freerolls and have won many of them. To me free rolls are great for learning patience and discipline. I dont have a count how many I entered to win the but it must be in the hundreds. I play free roll once in a while, but not with the same vigor as before.

I managed to register for the PokerStars 80k freeroll satellite today. It filled up in less than 30 seconds (10 thousand people), which is faster than usual. Now I just have to win it :)

for your question i will answer yes and no.... there are too much people in the freerolls were you have to play in order to qualify for another freeroll like the hubbles, galileo, etc.. however there is an incredible tournament call the daily eighty grand freeroll were top 5 recieve a ticket to a 80.000 tournament and 6th to 27 place wins 5.50. i can swear that i have never seen one tournament were 10.000 people register in less than 1 minute... this tournament is the Eighly hundred grand..... these tournament and the pokercast freeroll are the only one freeroll whick i play... the others are a waste of time. just avoid the other pokerstars freerolls....

i agree, pretty much all of the freerolls on pokerstars are way to much, but alot of players get knocked out within the 1st hour. i hav won 4 tickets on pokerstars and i did happen to finish the hubbles freeroll within 2hours one night. but i agree, they do that to many players to register.

Idiocy, pure idiocy. Yeah, you play out of boredom, 12000 people, and you finish 44th. So not you're in a big 2k with 3300 (this morning), and finish 1000-something. Not worth the bother. Never again, I don't care if it's horse or Omaha h/l, it's just not going anywhere. For the life of me, can't figure out how I have $8+ in there - got to be freerolls from Railbirds. But I usually can't even get cards there - at all.

i think it is good they let 12000 people play, cuz now they give 99 tickets, and previously they were giving only 27 tickets.
also i like the idea of freerolls with money, like FTP.

do you think that is good that 12000 players are allow to play a satelite to another freeroll and were only 99 qualify for the 2000 freerolll???? please!! less than 1% qualify, and if you are luck and qualify you have to play another freeroll with 5000 people to try to cashed something good!!!
creo que estas equvocado andres....
but i agree with these comment
"i like the idea of freerolls with money" actually there are freerolls with money.... the eightly grand freeroll and the pokercast freeroll.... also the weekly round 2 were you need a ticket in order to play... but 12000 players... no way!
