I play on pokerstars and Full Tilt, and they seem to have different rules. If a player busts (right) on PokerStars, you have the chance to avoid the big blind (or small blind) :D . This happens very often, and you can get lucky, esp. when the blinds are signif. high. On Full Tilt you always have to bring the blinds, whatever happens left and right.

Correct Daniel. Not all sites have the exact same rules. The BB being able to be skipped is a rather unique one to Pokerstars I believe. I am not aware of other sites that permit this (there may be some though). In most live tournaments and cash games you can never skip the BB. You can not be the SB without being the BB. If you miss your BB and come back when you would have been the SB you must wait until the button passes your position before you can play again and then you must at least post the BB ( and usually a dead SB ). This is of course in cash/ring games since even if you are not in your seat for the BB in a tournament you will be blinded in.

In some casinos and card rooms you can "Buy the button" by posting the BB and a dead SB when you are directly to the left of the button.
