Rudy, Gemini ( the original club in central Ohio 3 years ago) had a sister club in Berea.... that is till the greed of Nautica (= Jacobs Investments - same as the former Jacobs fields -... I know I know... they need the money) had it closed. It was open for maybe 2 months max and it killed the action at Nautica. They tried it in Canton but it was not nearly as succesfull. Gemini Berea was getting 9 tables a night on the weekends with lists. Two 2/5NL games and six or seven 1/2 NL games. I even heard they were getting regular PLO games at Gemini too in the short time it was open. Only made it there 3 times myself.
I have heard reports that there is a club open in the Canton area but will have to get further information for you.

CSuave, you definitely know the Central Ohio scene! I'm taking notes. ;-)
I'm a former OSU cheerleader and I'm on the Buckeye Cruise Cheer Squad. We are hosting a Texas Hold Em tourney ($150 buy in) on August 14 at the Blackwell on OSU campus. In addition to cash prizes someone will win passage for two on the 2012 Buckey Cruise in late February. Chris Spielman will visit the tournament as will other former players AJ Trapasso, Dimitrious Stanley and Justing Zwick. We're trying to get the word out to as many Central Ohio poker players as possible. Got any ideas for us?
We're at www.cardstocurecancer.com and on Facebook at Cards To Cure Cancer.

BuckeyeGal, I have posted this on another forum that is frequented by many central Ohio card players.
I also suggest that you contact some of the clubs and see if they would be willing to post information about your tournament in their clubs since it is for such a good cause.

I don't suppose anyone has any news about the Buckeye? Found the doors locked and the signs out of the windows tonight when I showed up for the 7pm Friday qualifier.

MrGray, I have heard they are now closed due to lease issues. But I do not know all of the circumstances. Will let you know when I hear more. Where in central Ohio are you? Do you play at other clubs?

Thanks for the update CSuave. With four separate championships pending (each with a jackpot we've been paying into each qualifying tournament) the sudden closure without even a sign posting an explanation was a little jarring.

I'm down in the Pickerington area, so the Buckeye was great while it lasted. I'll probably take my action to Gemini going forward.

Best of luck at Gemini. Don't forget there is also the Lancaster Players Club close to you and Premeir on Alum Creek at Williams Rd. Of course there is also Sweets, Lucky Dog, Platinum and Evergreen. Gemini still has some of the best NL action with Nicks running a close second. Sweets(Sky) tends to offer the most variety in games on any given day though.

Sounds like the Cards to Cure Cancer event was a success. They had around 160 players for their tournament.
