On Friday morning, an email was sent by Full Tilt Poker to an undisclosed number of recipients informing players of the completion of an extensive investigation by the full tilt poker security team. The investigation found that certain parties were in violation of the sites user agreement, and that the site had permanently closed the offending accounts. In cases of proven cheating, 100% of the confiscated funds were reimbursed to affected players. The letter went on to explain that “for a number of reasons, we are unable to provide additional information regarding this case, including the players involved and the game type where it occurred.” Further investigation showed a release by Shanky Technologies, who owns and operates a website that sells “Bots” for a variety of different games. The release by Shanky Technologies apologized to its customers and spoke harshly about Full Tilt Poker saying that Full Tilt had “came out of left field and froze all our accounts and have confiscated all our funds.” While it is still unclear the amount that was recovered by Full Tilt, or the number of accounts that were shut down, Full Tilt stood clear that they do not condone cheating of any kind and encouraged its players to contact security@fulltiltpoker.com in instances where illegal activity is assumed or detected.
