That's a bit of info for anyone making a new deposit on BOL. They have a good prize pool for a new depositor freeroll, 10K, but it has 6 minute blinds and landmines galore. You will likely have to contact support to even receive your ticket. I was given a slight runaround asking for it when I should have had it and told an extended time frame. They did finally award it to me after what I remember as contacting them at least
2 or possibly 3 times via chat.
So yes, so far this is accurate. I have had 2 successful chats with support and a third where I was blatantly ignored and have yet to be granted my ticket. The first was prior to the 72 hour period that I had forgotten about which is in the terms so that was my fault for contacting them too early. The second chat was after the 72 hour period and my question was blatantly ignored. She instead diverted by asking account security questions and then just disappeared not even responding to a hello. I couldn’t get any other agent at the time so I waited several hours for a shift change. On my third support chat I was told that they are late to grant the tickets this month with apologies. I asked when to check back and was advised to wait until the end of the week before contacting support again.
With this experience, I have my doubts about the legitimacy of the site’s integrity and I fully expect those land mines to keep me out of the $. I don’t know how much a
poker site such as this pulls in monthly but to even offer 10k for free seems far fetched from the get go. What business gives that much away unless it’s for a tax benefit which I somehow don’t see here (even though I don’t call myself an expert on international tax laws)...I have played online on and off since the early 2000s mostly at
bodog/bovada/ignition,
poker stars, and full tilt. Call me crazy but I don’t ever recall such a large free offering for a mere $50 min deposit.
Within 30mins of my home I have 2 very large card rooms (Foxwoods and mohegan sun) and a couple of regular home games. The only reason I have returned to online poker temporarily is because I am undergoing treatment for cancer which leaves me immunodeficient so I can’t be around dirty poker players and chips lol (which the treatment is going well and I expect to be cancer free at the end of the battle). I feel that until online poker is regulated again in all 50 states it’s just going to be hard to trust any of the overseas offerings that allow US players. Just my opinion...
With all of that that being said, off topic I know but I tried ACR yesterday and I am going to see what I can do strictly with
freerolls and their current tourney bucks no deposit promo. At a minimum it will keep me practicing without having to actually risk any buy ins. It’s probably where I’ll stay until I can make my way back into the
casinos and local games, and of course until online poker is legit here in the states again.
