New to CC, but not BOL

I have been playing at BOL for a few years and enjoy it very much. I play micro/low limit games and mtts which they offer a fair amount of. Deposits and withdrawals are very easy and I have never had any issues. Thumbs up in my opinion.

Yeah it's on Aug 12th. Planning on playing in it. I just checked and I don't have a ticket yet, but I read somewhere that tickets will be sent out within 72 hours of the 1st of the month. Apparently, 18 people have already received their tickets though. I wouldn't be shocked if I had to contact support.

I did have to contact support. I contacted them August 3rd and they told me to wait until August 6th and it would be automatically added. Then, I contacted them today, August 7th and they added the ticket pretty quickly. Glad they made it right, but wondering why simple things are hard for professionals everywhere I go.

A lot of new players won't contact them, which means less players in the tournaments, which could mean less they have to pay if one of their guys wins the tourney.

Speculation of course. But still, I don't see them giving something away unless they know you give a damn and will call their bluff ;)

Yeah, I'm sure many don't even know about the tournament since it's not widely publicized like the first deposit bonus is. I don't doubt anything you say. I'm certainly a skeptic when it comes to the many facets of online poker these days.

It seems a bit odd to me that 3 days before the actual tournament starts, there are already 218 players registered. Seems like a lot, but I'm basing that on basically no knowledge or information on how many new players they get each month.

I'm fairly sure people share the passwords. Or that they don't really change them much. Like it's NDF2017, and then now it's NDF2018.

Idk lol, but that could be why there are so many. Or every time you deposit, you get access?

It's supposed to only be for new depositors. And it's not a password, they send a ticket, so who know.

267 current entrants and still nearly a couple days to go until launch.

The new depositor freeroll starts in 12 minutes and there are 366 current entrants. First place is $2000. 40th place is $83. I know it's worldwide, but it does seem like a large number of first time depositors for betonline, judging by the traffic I see there and considering every new depositor wouldn't even be registered.

So I have the client open, awaiting tournament start, and my table opens but there are no animations and I can only hear the sounds. The table won't close and neither will the client. I have to open task manager to close it out and relaunch. I'm able to play now. I've got an ace my first three hands and won the first two pots.

Very disappointing to find out the blinds increase every 6 minutes. Wow.

Had to shove my 15 BB early with AJ, and lost to a guy who had 30 bb calling preflop with J10 lololololololololol

I've found BOL to be more reliable in SNGs. If they had .01/.02 cash games I'd play there over ACR tbh. Haven't played Bovada yet though. Is it good?

Bovada is alright...alot of suckouts but u get that anywhere..the worst part of it is anonymous play

The play on BOL is terrible to say the least. I do, however, like the software. It just seems like whenever I pull BOL up there is never anything going on. Does anyone know how many players play daily on BOL on average?

It really depends on what you are looking for and when you are looking for it. For MTTs sometimes during the week I have a hard time finding one with a structure that I like, but don't so much have that problem on the weekend with all the 1k guarantees going on.

Micro and low stakes cash games seem to keep about 4+ tables going at all times, I don't play them, but checked them out because of the daily cash tables promotion going on right now.

Sngs are something that I am in the process of figuring out. Right now I am playing one 4-6 hour shift starting from 8pm EST. I can yield about 40 sngs in that time that are in my bankroll range. I am going to try and carve out another 4 hour block earlier in the day and compare them.

Hope this helps a little and if you have questions about a specific game type please let me know.

:2d4::3d4:

PS - I think we've played together lol.

This seems to always be the case on BOL. I recently opened an account there because I was regularly cashing in MTTs on ignition and then it suddenly seemed all of the odds were against me and with some frustration I tanked my bankroll. Some online research lead me to try BOL and I am minimally impressed. Going to use my ticket for the 10k freeroll this weekend and play as tight as possible but I fully expect crappy play or a horrible hand to knock me out. Might go back to ignition, or better yet wait until US players can get regulated play again in all states.

Which by the way, I too need to contact BOL support to even be granted my ticket even though I met all the requirements...

That's a bit of info for anyone making a new deposit on BOL. They have a good prize pool for a new depositor freeroll, 10K, but it has 6 minute blinds and landmines galore. You will likely have to contact support to even receive your ticket. I was given a slight runaround asking for it when I should have had it and told an extended time frame. They did finally award it to me after what I remember as contacting them at least
2 or possibly 3 times via chat.

So yes, so far this is accurate. I have had 2 successful chats with support and a third where I was blatantly ignored and have yet to be granted my ticket. The first was prior to the 72 hour period that I had forgotten about which is in the terms so that was my fault for contacting them too early. The second chat was after the 72 hour period and my question was blatantly ignored. She instead diverted by asking account security questions and then just disappeared not even responding to a hello. I couldn’t get any other agent at the time so I waited several hours for a shift change. On my third support chat I was told that they are late to grant the tickets this month with apologies. I asked when to check back and was advised to wait until the end of the week before contacting support again.

With this experience, I have my doubts about the legitimacy of the site’s integrity and I fully expect those land mines to keep me out of the $. I don’t know how much a poker site such as this pulls in monthly but to even offer 10k for free seems far fetched from the get go. What business gives that much away unless it’s for a tax benefit which I somehow don’t see here (even though I don’t call myself an expert on international tax laws)...I have played online on and off since the early 2000s mostly at bodog/bovada/ignition, poker stars, and full tilt. Call me crazy but I don’t ever recall such a large free offering for a mere $50 min deposit.

Within 30mins of my home I have 2 very large card rooms (Foxwoods and mohegan sun) and a couple of regular home games. The only reason I have returned to online poker temporarily is because I am undergoing treatment for cancer which leaves me immunodeficient so I can’t be around dirty poker players and chips lol (which the treatment is going well and I expect to be cancer free at the end of the battle). I feel that until online poker is regulated again in all 50 states it’s just going to be hard to trust any of the overseas offerings that allow US players. Just my opinion...

With all of that that being said, off topic I know but I tried ACR yesterday and I am going to see what I can do strictly with freerolls and their current tourney bucks no deposit promo. At a minimum it will keep me practicing without having to actually risk any buy ins. It’s probably where I’ll stay until I can make my way back into the casinos and local games, and of course until online poker is legit here in the states again.

I am on the fence about the anonymous play being the worst part. Sometimes I feel like it is the greatest thing online poker has done to protect us but on the flip, how will we ever know who we are playing (ie do they have regular “house players” never to be revealed or something like that). It does prevent other players from tracking your style of play when they recognize your name and have tons of notes on you so I guess that’s another plus at least in my opinion.

Betonline used to have a lot of 50$ 100$ and 300$ freerolls running daily now there are less freerolls and the best value freeroll there is the CardsChat one with few players and a good payout.

Only us site left. They pay.. Usefvto have freerolls every 2 hours and stopped..

There are a couple other sites that accept US players, ACR for sure does. They also have on demand freerolls and other password protected freerolls.

Hey man. I like BOL.... except for thedificulty inwithdrawl w/o ever depositing.... But I like the software. and they will pay. esp once you have made even a $10 deposit. Since you seem to be considering at least that anyway. My 2 cents. Ya. Enjoy. Decent site. BBJP hit fairly regularly... lately :) As far as small deposits on ACR with BTC .... if you wanna PM me. I'll P2P u any amount on ACR for BTC. By this... I mean small amounts... lol. Like $5, $10, $20 etc. $50 or over, just go through them :) That goes for anyone else with a little BTC wanting less than $50 on ACR. PM me.
