OK guys I just received this e-mail from Stars support :

-----------------------------------------------------
Thank you for contacting Stars Support. We will be more than happy to review your query.

As of January 5th, you can only use the $22 to enter the Blowout Mega satellites that allow you to qualify for a bigger buy-in event. We are sorry about this change, but we reserve the right to modify our promotion at any time. All of these tickets were given away as gifts and have therefore no monetary value.

Please refer to point 8.7 in our General Terms and conditions for poker promotions:

https://www.pokerstars.eu/poker/promotions/terms/

We thank you for your understanding. If we can do anything else for you, please let us know. We are at your service 24/7.

The Stars Team wishes you an amazing day.

................................................................................................

So there's nothing we can do, they have the right to change the promotion at any time, but at least they admitted you could use the tickets before January 5th.

So they must have realized they would lose money on this and changed the ticket....

How sad is this is when the best we can do is shrug our shoulders ,under that theory they can do what ever they want with the terms and conditions,it would be like making a bet on a game, after the game changing the bet so that you won and saying its in the terms and conditions, and we nod our head and say I guess so,what a deal

So they hold a huge series with so many chance of every players to get in. Early stage you could manage to make a seat from freeroll and the new year's chests.

I can imagine 2 ways, the first is that they didn't calculate with that much number of lucky players, who turned their chances into money without any deposit, and actually made a bankroll or life changing opportunity.
The second way is that they knew exactly that they would reach a point where the gift-tickets are not worth to given and they had a team who calculated which point would they stop the giving and making giveaways without giving away their money, only some fake-ways to reach their wallets.
No matter what way happened, they run out the money that they could give, and having rules and laws which open them the doors to group their resources made players to shut their mouth, even you 're right - and more money in the wallet.

This is a sad story again from a poker site, and made me think of, it could been nice to have a poker trade union, which protect the poker players against these enormous businesses. :call:

I suspected that they would say that!

And then you think: What is the point of "Agree to Terms" if not to take the responsibility of the company in just a single paragraph?

8.7 We reserve the right, at any time, to alter these Rules, the EULA, Tournament Rules or the Special Terms at our sole discretion, including to cancel, modify or suspend any Promotion if, in our sole discretion, we believe that the Promotion is not capable of being conducted as specified. Any changes to any Promotion shall be made on the Site and your continued participation in that Promotion shall be deemed an acceptance of any proposed changes, modification or alterations.

It is a "little" confused, no? You see General Terms (Updated March 2020) are different from Promotions Terms (In force from September, 2020) and that is different from the Blowout Ticket Machine - Terms (December 2020)

(PS: This is what happens when you sign something without reading --> (See in the video) :D

The worst part was that they tried to convince us that the tickets were for satellites all along.
If they had to change the terms of the promotion after the promotion already started and after distributing prizes (which is one of the shittiest thing a company can do), they could at least send an email explaining the changes and be honest with the users who spend money on their company.

Says it all really, any promotion , any rules can be changed. And your account can also be closed at any time.

But its their rules, I am just a player and have to accept this. I am just lucky I have a poker room I can play at , as at the moment several are withdrawing from my country.

I read all these comments, and I understand how good it is that I managed to win back these three tickets before January 5, win 50 dollars and now play for them in other tournaments. The rest of the players who didn't use their tickets were out of luck! It would be wise for the pokerstars administration to announce the changes in the promotion, and not prove that the players are wrong. It's somehow frivolous on their part!

Well, all that's left to do is play the damn satellites, lose the tickets and then cry in the shower.
But changing the terms of the promotion after issuing the prizes and without any warning, and then lie about it was very disapointing.
I'm oficially a Pokerstars hater. Time to find another poker room.

Yes this was a dirty trick! They were generous with the ticket giveaway but then dishonest and sneaky changing the tickets like they did. Most people will not win anything with the tickets, will forget about the generosity, and remember the dishonesty.
I think this decision may have been made right after the very first blowout tourney (5 million guarantee) where they had almost a 900G loss. After that to Jan 6 I think there has only been 4 tourneys where they have not met their guarantee. If my calculations are correct from Dec 27 to Jan 6 they have now made a profit in these blowout tourneys of over 2 million dollars less the cost of the tickets they gave away. So I would think by the end of this series they will recognize a nice profit even after considering the ticket giveaways. I hope they realize the mistake they made by changing ticket use after issue and never do anything like this again.

The profit/loss for pokerstars for each day in blowout tourneys according to my calculations--

Dec 27 696889.40 loss
Dec 28 169484.28 profit
Dec 29 183556.40 profit
Dec 30 115725.56 profit
Dec 31 37455.67 profit
Jan 1 495655.61 profit
Jan 2 311141.55 profit
Jan 3 864358.00 profit
Jan 4 228836.64 profit
Jan 5 160302.31 profit
Jan 6 167791.40 profit

Thats a really serious calculation, thanks Rachelle for posting it. These numbers if I am right are based on the final results that we can see in the lobby. In addition they give away 2million dollar worth tickets through the blowout ticket-machine, so this is a loss again. (Also when they gave the new year's ticket were they included into the 2M$?)
A team just draw the line, and as they have all the right, they did it. But its nice to see these numbers without any other calculations cause that would be a piece of a pure amount.

Ok, now they are just screwing with me.
I just received an email reminding me that I still have tickets to use in the Blowout Series Tournaments:

TICKETS EXPIRE ON JANUARY 17

You still have tickets waiting to be used in your account.

Remember: you can use your tickets in Blowout Series tournaments. Available until January 17.

The same is happening to me with the tickets, it only lets me play satellites, I have not read the terms and conditions, but this situation is a bit wrong.

Not with the tickets.
The funny thing is that they sent an email today saying that "you can use your tickets in Blowout Series tournaments".

But then the support says that the tickets are only for satellites.

The whole Blowout Series Tickets saga is very retarded, and disapointing.

Yes, I tried and they still work only in satellites.
Then I contacted them and they confirmed that the tickets are only for satellites.
And they just ignore all my questions about the conflicting information in the email.

I used them all (22, 11 and 5,5) right the begining of the events at non sat events. I made 2 cashes with more than 60 dolars made from them.

Still cash to be found in satellites it seems landore nice play.:D
The only problem I am having is play this one or that one thanks to the CardsChat prize draw unsure as all other $215 games do not suit me due to Working late Monday to Friday.
Want to play a KO game but that means wait 12 days or tempted to play tomorrow but not my preferred game no bounties and 6 max unsure.
But if all of lifes problems were like this I would be doing fine.:top:

My calculator still seemed to work so I thought I might as well finish what I started. I will do this in a series of posts since things are not real simple and require assumptions. Was the change of ticket use at all justified? I have attempted to estimate the profit/loss to pokerstars from the blowout tourneys. First of all I will present the profit/loss of the events themselves without consideration of satellite revenue and ticket giveaway expense.

Profit/loss to pokerstars:

Dec 27 to Jan 6 2037418.00 profit (see my earlier post)
Jan 7 228770.71 profit
Jan 8 215783.93 profit
Jan 9 208486.80 profit
Jan 10 794240.40 profit
Jan 11 173371.20 profit
Jan 12 121309.28 profit
Jan 13 148867.80 profit
Jan 14 165114.10 profit
Jan 15 144717.95 profit
Jan 16 205779.00 profit
Jan 17 702983.90 profit
Jan 18 245285.08 profit
Jan 19 27392.99 profit

Total profit excluding satellite revenue and ticket giveaways 5419521.10

Next up --estimation of satellite revenue
