Was money from the rebuys going towards the charity?

That's what I was thinking. So, she not only buys into a charity event but also keeps losing her stack and rebuying, thus giving more money to the charity, over and over again. What a terrible person...

Annie Duke is a horribly annoying. I can't stand her freaking out when she gives someone a bad beat and going on and on and on and on about how sorry she was, if it was me, I'd probably punch her in the face.

What she did to Ivey is horrible. She hits a one out to quad on him then goes running around telling everyone what she did. I don't think she's a good player or human being. I have never met her, but from what I read, she is a joke.

In my opinion if a pro organizes a tourny, freeroll or not, and is advertising that she is going to play in it with a bounty, then she shouldnt just shove with any 2 cards, even if he is tired. I can see from her point of view where the freeroll doesn't mean much. But people play those things because they want to sit down with a pro and play good poker, Not to beat a pro that pushed all in with nothing...I like annie, and am kinda shocked that she would do this.

my 2 cents.

I have played in three online MTTs with Annie Duke and lasted longer than her in all three. I don`t believe this makes me a better player than her. I think she just doesn`t pay any real attention to online tournies at a buyin that`s within my BR.

I'm sure Annie was actually playing but I doubt she really cares about a $250 FR.

and this. problem is not that the tourney is pocket money for her, but if she doesnt care why anounce that she will play it anyway ? promote her in a 1000$ bi tourney or something.

She played like a donkey in one of the Charity tournaments a while back too...it was a $5 rebuy - I was at her table - I forget what charity...Haiti I think. Anyway...every single hand she kept going allin regardless and kept rebuying until she had a massive stack. She ruined it for our entire table who was there to contribute a little and have fun. I lost respect for her that day.

^^^^^ and this.

The reason I started this thread is because Annie should take her events seriously. If she isn't gonna take a $250 FR seriously then why doesn't she sponsor a game that will.

I ddn't want Annie to win the game. I just want her to have some respect for the games that she is hosting. Is that a lot to ask?

You're getting to play in a $250 freeroll with a $25 knockout bounty because of her and it cost you nothing.

I only see upside here. If you'd paid something or you were out of pocket in some way then maybe I could see some grounds for complaint. But when you've paid nothing?!? Sorry, I just can't take the complaint seriously.

I'll ask the question again, BTW: in the Haiti rebuy tournament people were talking about, was money from the rebuys going to the charity?

I'm with u on that one mixer. If she doesn't want to play the freeroll like she wants to win, then why should she sponsor it? I mean I know it's a freeroll, but it's YOUR event, people want you to act like it.

I don't think he's complaining. He is just stating a valid point and I agree with it. She should play the freeroll like she wants to win because she is the sponsor for it. If she doesn't want to play well, then why should she host the event?

^^^and this BIG TIME

To add to this, I want her to act professional.

She doesn't have to but it would be helpful for those that have respect for her and the events she sponsors.

Yep, I'm sure everyone in the tourney would appreciate that, at least I would anyway.

*shrugs*

I'm just saying, when you've paid nothing you don't get the right to make a lot of demands.

I don't really think there is a "demand" in this, we just think that she SHOULD actually try to win because it's her event.

Yeah... see, there kind of is a demand in what you're saying because you're both going on about what she "should" do.

You paid nothing, she owes you nothing and she can play how she likes. It's really that simple.

Edit: this is the last I'm going to say about this because you guys obviously have your opinions and you're entitled to them. I'm just giving you the rational opposing viewpoint on this.

Well that's what opinions are for. I just think that she should play like she wants to win considering it's HER event, if she doesn't want to play good, then why sponsor a tournament?

I would just like to know what she would've done if Doyle Brunson, Phil Ivey, etc. joined the same tourney? I think the only reason she played the way she did was because it was a bunch of freeroll players.

And nobody put anything into this tournament directly, but they did put money into her pocket with rake from the site. So if UB and herself want to promote this tournament, I think there should be a higher standard. But they obviously got what they wanted out of it (i.e. a bunch of people to download the App onto their phones so that UB could continue to pull even more rake) so I guess that was enough for them.

Wait. So its a FR with a $25 bounty that would be close to 1st place prize.

So if Annie does play well and she wins ANYTHING or doesnt get knocked out and wins it all. You would again, be screaming for her head.

She didnt want to cash and wanted someone to get her bounty. Pretty cool IMO.

This question needs to be answered before my molotov cocktails burn through.

Even if it was just a bunch of freeroll players, which it was a FREEroll there was probably going to be freeroll players in the freeroll. But if she didn't want to play with freeroll players, she just wanted to play with other professionals, then make a buy-in game instead of a freeroll where freerolls players are going to be. Why couldn't she of done the same idea, but just make it a $10 buy-in or whatever they wanted to do.

I know they didn't, and I'm fine with the idea I just think that she could have played better than she did in her tournament.

Wait. So its a FR with a $25 bounty that would be close to 1st place prize.

The bounty on Annie Duke's head is one-tenth of the prize pool.

I'm sure everyone was going after her...

Yeah that's pretty cool, but I think she could have played better. Again, if you don't want to play like a good player, then don't host a tournament. That's why people play poker, it's a CHALLENGE, people don't want it to be easy. And if she decided to play good then I think others would have enjoyed the game more than they did.
