I have been working extra the last several months, so I have played almost no poker. But I just started back playing last week and see the new Galaxy Promotion at 888 starting today.
So what do you think of the new promotion?

at the moment I only play in pokersatars but under the recommendation of my colleagues I will try 888. Then I will draw conclusions

I do the same as you. Not only to not lose my own ticket, but also allow those at my table to have a better chance. Why not help when you can instead of being greedy when it does not profit you any?

If they are going to cut it from $3000 to only $1000 for Blast tickets. I think they would have more support and positive feedback from players if they spread it out such as:

1-100 - $5 Blast Ticket
101-500 - $1 Blast Ticket
501-1500 - .10 Blast Ticket

It is still $1000, and pays many more people. It gets customers to play Blasts more often which should be good for 888 business while making players happy to at least win something more regularly for the time spent in those freerolls.

Same here, but that's mainly because once I was sure I had enough chips to make the top 600 I stopped playing as there was no point in taking any risks, even with AA.
It was funny watching some players refuse to stop playing pots when they had a ticket locked up if they stopped, but then lose their chips and not get a ticket.

I remember 1 time a guy had over 110k in chips in one of the morning games with less than 6k players. In these games if you got to about 35k in chips you were pretty much locked for a ticket, even 30k might be enough, but he kept playing every pot and doubling short stacks up until he didn't have the chips to get a ticket.
I saw that many times, but that was the most obvious case.

When I knew I had the ticket in the bag I was folding AA and KK preflop so making the top 200 was rare as I just let my chips dwindle down.

I am not currently playing on 888 Poker, so I have no first hand experience. But it does indeed seem strange to reduce the pricepool in these daily BLAST freerolls at the exact time, where twice as many people as normal are playing online poker. For me this mean, they would no longer be worth my time.

Your exactly right...they cut out 400 places for no good reason except being lazy and overly greedy then they try to fool everyone by basically giving us back the same freeroll but hey they changed the name

To be fair, 888 is merely moving the freeroll money around.
Sure they cut back on the BLAST freeroll prize pool, but they added 2x $2k freerolls each day and a $10k on weekends so they actually increased the overall amount of freeroll money available.

Sadly, I still haven't got the email to participate in the new promotion and it has been about 11 or 12 days since it started.

Back to 888 support I guess.

888 also added a $500 Jackpot freeroll which gives casino bonus money. It's pretty tough, it pays 300 spots out of 5000 players.
I just finished one and got a $1.35 casino bonus.

Finally, 16 days after this promotion started I get to participate.

I contacted support again this morning and they said they'd look into it, again.
I haven't heard back from them, or got the email, but I just looked and I now have 2 Venus freeroll tickets which I must have got while doing the hand of the day (I'm sure I won with A-K).
I hope it isn't a weird fluke, I don't have any of the challenge progress bars which would let me know for sure, but for some reason I rarely get the progress bars to show up. I didn't get the hand of the day progress bar the last few days either.

Better late than never, at least I have time to get a $10k Neptune ticket.

I finally got to play my first Venus, but since 888 is having log in issues again I had to play on the non download version.
I ended up about 600th out of over 10,000 for a cool $1.00.

It turns out getting those 2 Venus tickets was some kind of fluke, I would have been completing challenges every day in the course of my normal playing, but only got those Venus tickets once, 2 days ago.
At least I got a little something from this promotion.

I've only been able to use a few of my 'tickets'

I've just been randomly playing a bit of cash tables (micro SNAP) without knowing what I'm trying to do for the tickets. I've also only been able to log in to 888 about once every 4days or so

I just checked my ticket tally...
I have 18x Venus $2,000 freeroll
2x Neptune $10,000 freeroll

So from my understanding there are 3 tasks you gotta complete any given day.

First: Gotta play a tournaments amounting to $3. So that means either 1 $3 or 6 $0.50 so long as during the same day and you hit $3. you win!

Second: Win a hand in a cash game with AK at showdown, min stakes must 2/5c. Straight forward

Third: You gotta bet a total of $5. Like the first, this can be made up of many little bets. But he's the nuts, you cant bet on anything when you have over a 50-50 chance of winning so betting say Phil Ivey to beat me heads up is not good enough.

Anyway so you have the 3 missions,
If you complete 1 missions you get 2 Venus (per day).
If you complete 2 or more you get 1 Neptune (per week).
If you complete 14 over the promo period (6th of June I think) you get the 100k Saturn ticket.

Yesterday both the hand of the day and the hand to get the Venus tickets happened to be the same, A-K.

When this hand of the day promotion started you did have to win the hand post flop, but it was very glitchy and not crediting a lot of the wins. Most days I'd have to win the hand 6-8 times rather than the 5x I was required to do, one time I won the hand 11x and still didn't complete the challenge..
Eventually 888 did fix the glitch so all wins were being credited, but in doing so they made it so it counted if you won the hand pre flop too. It took a couple of days before I realized this and in the promotion terms it still says post flop.

You only need to complete 1 of the challenges per day (doing the hand of the day means I'll end up winning with A-K at some point no matter what the hand of the day is).

Do 2 challenges per week, on different days, and you get a $10k Neptune ticket. Do 14 challenges over the course of the promotion and you get a ticket to the $100k freeroll, very easy to do with the length of this promotion.

This promotion is the same as others. I think just a few months earlier people have more value from their promotions. And everytime the new promotion have less value for players everytime.
Over the last 7 years i never been even on the final table (top-3 is impossible for sure) in this kind of tourneys. Everytime i had some big stack and soft just dealing you in one moment only cheap hands like 2-3 , 3-7 and so on for a long period and you just can,t do anything with that. To be honest i lost my hope in this room... Was dreaming many times even for a 1 finish in top-3 in this tourney, but all that promos is the same. No chances at all...

So are you playing vs. 'the soft'? What kind of games is that? (I've never seen that before... is it in the tournament lobby?)
Or did you mean 'the soft' was out to get you.... out to do you wrong each time... and that's why you have never received a top 3 finish? Somebody finished in the top 3.
