This is the main reason I sticked to CC, finding all this useful info like if I wasnt on the forum I would have missed on the spins from party poker from last month, on curent poker in the ears from poker stars, and I would have still wondered what elite status is on 888 poker.

Did anyone ever find out how you get the elite status? Obviously it is not based on the level you are on. I am not sure whey they are not more transparent on this. Surely it would then encourage players to reach this status?

Not sure how to see the elite status but 888 have a monthly elite tournament with a 10 minute blind structure as opposed to turbos where it looks like you have to be an elite member to qualify, but cannot see anywhere how you get this status.

I emailed 888 in the end to find out to achieve this status but they have stated this is decided on case by case personal basis and if you are considered entitled to the status they will send you an email inviting you. Maybe it should be called the elusive status as opposed to the elite status ;-)

i think that status is for players who plays cashgame ( multitable ) a loots and they make profit out of it , so 888 gives them the elite statut . there are many tournaments for elite on 888 and it s restricted to elite only .

I'm almost positive it has to do with how much money moves through your account (total bet, not won/lost) whether it is from higher stakes poker or the 888 casino.
I don't play high stakes poker, I was invited to 888 Elite after an unusual couple of months.
I had a $10 casino bonus from a club scratch card and decided to try my luck with the slot races and had the golden horseshoe as I racked up several top placings winning a couple of $5 bonuses, a $20 bonus and I finished 2nd in a really big one and got a $400 bonus.
I actually cleared almost $170 from the $20 bonus as I got the $400 bonus right after that and made some big bets that were credited to the $20 bonus since it came first.
I played that $400 bonus a long time and had it up over $1200 (nowhere near clearing it) but I figure my total wagers with all those bonuses was probably $15000-20000 (not won or lost, just total bet including all wins and losses), before I finally lost that bonus.
A few weeks later I built up from $100 to over $1200 real money over a couple of weeks and again probably had total wagers of at least $10000 to win that (I did quit and cash that one out).
So, over that relatively short period I probably had $30000+ in total amount wagered which maybe made me look like a "whale"
It wasn't long after that I got invited and have been reaping the benefits ever since.

No need to contact 888. If you are a good rake generator or a hectic casino or sports punter then 888 would easily detect you and mark you an Elite status.

I seriously doubt that and you cannot always level up that quickly. Some levels require 5 days activity to level up as one of the requirements for instance. Also you can spend very very little to level up on 888.

Yes, but for instance I had already got the maximum points I could from spending money entering tournaments in one day, and from that point it did not matter how much more I spent I could not level up until I had completed 5 days playing real money tournaments but they could be $10 cents tourneys each day, the value or amount of games I played in a day were irrelevant. That's why I mean you cannot level up more quickly just by spending more on tournaments to level up quicker as it tied to two separate things.

Yes I know this that is why I also bet on sports. I breakeven with betting. Its possible to level up everyday with poker and sports betting. I use strict bankroll management.:bandit:

Oh I see, I generally stick to poker so sometimes cannot leve1 up quicker. Other sites have started this gateway with promotions into the casinos and betting but I am not so keen in general. I was orientated towards poker due to the skill of the game and steer more clear of general gambling. It would certainly help me level up quicker on 888 though! Odd in a promotional sense in one respect because if like me you stick to poker, there's no more incentive to spend more on games in terms of reward ladder for the club, if the only criteria left is to play more days for any amount.
