That's probably what their intention was:
Reward the ones who pay the most rake or make players play higher stakes in the hope to get more chips...
But that is a "stupid " way to do it. Because you win C$ so you can not withdraw them....so you have to play cash...and if you give the change to win big C$ to the "bad players" they probably will loose it on the cash tables and you still get the rake...and they don't get much....but the cash regulars they don't care about this tournaments...and they have the knowledge to turn those C$ into real $.
For example:
This Brazilian player has the possibility to see a lot of boards since he has massive stack. In my opinion in order to be a fare tournament we should have started with the same amount of chips. And then...lottery
Also there are players that stayed at one table for the last 15 minutes, and didn't played 1 hand. I would like that tonight...to stay at my table until there are only 2 players left
I will follow the tournament that will start in couple of minutes to see how the 1st player in chips is doing from the start.
