I honestly don't understand the obsessive, problem this world has with poker. It's a great game and has been around SOOO long, i wish they would just let it go already and stop bothering hard-working, legal adults who just want to play some cards and blow of steam...... Maybe make some extra money along the way

Most online poker players do not pay taxes to the state Treasury on their winnings. Officials do not like it, they do not play poker and therefore want to ban this income.

This really exists, people do not declare the gains of online poker to the Government, but it is the duty of the Government to create the tribute and also to check the money that enters and leaves the country.

Unfortunately the lack of flexibility is not only a problem for the Chinese. There are bureaucratic people in all parts of the world, bureaucracies impede the development of people and organizations, this bureaucratic culture hurt the creativity

Why are many countries against online poker? I don't understand that. I am only for the development of poker in the world.

I live in mexico, I am Swiss, so I am allowed to play poker!!!
I have 3 bank accounts, none of the cards is accepted by ANY pokerrrom.
So poor countries do not allow to send the little money they have Malta or wherever, without having the absolute control of money transmissions in and out of their countries...

Does that explain it?:secruity:

I read on poker sites that Putin also seeks to ban poker in Russia, he wants to do away with the tools that hide the online ip address to beat poker.
The Russians move poker and their absence is detrimental to online poker.

Online poker is such a luxury because people can play from their homes. I like to smoke and all of the poker rooms I've been to don't allow smoking. Does anybody play in a poker room where smoking is allowed?

More BS from another government forgetting that their only job is to protect people from physical danger. Soon they're going to tell you that you're not allowed to brush your teeth or you're not allowed to take a crap with the door closed.

Time to Legalize online poker.

However, if you prohibit online poker, prohibit all online gambling...

I definitely agree....if you are going to prohibit online poker....then they need to prohibit all forms on online gambling. I think it's time a petition is circulated to bring back online poker to the US.

For those who want to know the importance of China in online poker just look at the numbers of China: The most populous country in the world, Largest manufacturers of industrialized products on the planet, One of the main countries of the continent of Asia, next to Japan. So the Chinese have the ability to move hundreds of thousands of dollars into online poker.

Recently China has announced that it will ban online poker and now I have just read on CardsChat an article about the German treatise on the end of online games. In this article, he highlights the performance of PokerStars with DVTM, to fight against this deal.
The treaty aims to prohibit betting online and allow only horse races, this in my opinion is a bias, because if it is then prohibited to prohibit everything.
It's just the state to identify players online and collect taxes from these players, it would be better, since the games generate revenue.

In response to his writing, the online poker and casino sites have been blocked in Hungary for several years now.((.com))Under the current situation, only government-based companies were granted permission to operate.Hungarian banks are paying particular attention to transfers from the online "surface" gambling game.

I believe the casinos are behind these actions. They don’t want us playing on line, they want people in their casinos

Mostly because they don't have their greedy hands fully immersed in the industry. Online and live poker will never die. If online gets banned in certain countries players will always find other ways to play. Look at the US for example. Illegal to play online in most states but hey we can still go play at places like ACR, BOL, Intertops, Bovada etc.

I live in Florida. I play online at Club WPT. We are not allowed to play four months out of the year. I can drive five miles to a casino and lose my life’s savings everyday of the year, but I can’t spend twenty five dollars n September, December, March, and June and play on line.
The USA needs a unified policy that doesn’t punish everyone, Pat

The rules should be the same for everyone.

Even in canada for example the drinking age varies between provinces.
We have one city that spans 2 provinces and the laws are different on each side of the city. Go figure.

I don't think we have to worry about what a communist country like China does...there are so many restrictions there as it is...I don't think other countries look to China to decide what they will be doing with online gambling...

I know here in the US it has more to do with taxes and state level gambling laws...Here is Minnesota there were laws created to allow Indian reservations to allow gambling and they are now trying to change that with the rise of virtual currencies and demand for online play...I don't follow it as much as I should but I feel it will be legal soon...

If it were more a concern with addiction like one poster commented than that's not a solid argument...sure playing online is easier and you can definitely fall into huge financial hole...but you can do the same thing at casinos...IMHO
