Got an email saying:
For regulatory reasons, the requirement for UK-based players to move their accounts to the new PokerStars UK client has been postponed until November 1.

I read somewhere else about the regulatory reuirement being pushed back to March, I didn't think much more about it at the time but then seeing pokerstars change from october to november makes me wonder whether they will push it back again.

Haven't checked my emails but I was wondering if that would happen. I know the bill got pushed back a month and could only hope that Stars would push back the transfer window another month.

Perhaps there is still some hope.

If I understand the vagaries, I think a few years down the road UK players won't even notice the tax as it is a tax on Amaya/PS/FT and other participating sites profits, not a players tax.

Of course their will be accommodations made by sites to increase revenue flow... affiliate and PRO disassociation is already happening and I would hazard a guess that rakeback/rewards programs will be reviewed and changed.

Smaller skins have chosen to leave the UK market, Merge/Carbon being one. Since that is a site USA players can play at (excepting a few states) we here are sad to lose our UK friends.

Hopefully this will all sort out to the good for all of us worldwide with regulated sites and we can all share a common felt in the future.... until then, best of luck.

I keep checking up on this to see how many signatures we have and saw this:

"The gambling Commission have issued a clarification in their FAQ blog for the new licence regime.

http://licensingadvertisingact.blogspot.co.uk/2014/10/42-can-licence-holders-offer-auto-rebuy.html

Rebuys will be allowed providing other measures to detect and prevent problem gambling are in place. I am seeking for some clarification that the same applies to top ups but it is looking good, the Commission is listening and has responded quickly."

Seems we are off to a good start. Any other signatures would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again guys :)

in 5 or 6 year will be no Pokerstars eu...just Pokerstars.country:)

The strange thing is that usually players of "democratic" countries are banned from Pokerstars (cos their greedy government). Where people are meant to be free and do whatever they like and spend their money as they want... But ppl from eg China, Russia, Vietnam etc can play. Strange how the world changed...
But I think PS will survive and they will be able to cope with the absence of banned players. They only have to focus on big countries like China, india etc...

the whole thing seems to make poker out to be a really bad thing like we are all drug addicts or something similar.

DO other people get the same impression??
