Looks like we "may" be getting closer to some good news. USA players can only hope. I'm glad I didn't have much at FT. I never liked the site or played much there. Only some league games.

Even though it will be a monopoly effect like people fear, I think they will just be run independently though?

For recreational players especially, they wont know any different and the fact stars will own both at least means we can be close to 100% that money will be segregated again and we can trust our rolls on both sites.

There will still be all sorts of promotions/adverts/FT pros and stuff like there used to be, the competition between them both never really happened from what I remember..they both did well alongside each other and they wasn't exactly trying to out do one another. I think the vast majority of regs played at both stars + ftp so it will be great for having the extra recreational players to be up against.

On another note, you must be excited to be going back to FTP ( assuming you will) and continue your run good there as opposed to stars?

i didn't have much on ftp, only low 3 figs, altho i did prefer their software and they did have some epic tournaments, but that was largely destroyed with multi entry

Disagree here. FTPs desperation to be top dog is part of what brought around their demise imo.

Whether they did it out of greed in the traditional sense (seems obvious) or for whatever reason, they stole the money and caused thousands of people life changing problems. Its not complicated, just evil.

The money is not there for loans. It is players money and it should be segregated. They stole it and used it for their own purposes, advertising, tv shows and the loans you mention. If you gave me some money to look after and I gave it away to a buddy and then couldn't give it back, you'd want to do something about that I'd imagine.
